It fills me with joy that I am a member of the UN Global Education First Youth Advocacy Group．I have plenty of volunteer experiences and it is from these experiences that I was chosen out of 400 people who wanted to join to serve in this group．
When I finished my middle school，I started volunteering in a few non﹣governmental organizations．I began to understand a lot about community development．I took part in some projects and activities about the environment，peace and HIV/AIDS．
I had many obstacles（障碍）while volunteering because people don't think volunteer work is important．People consider volunteering as a waste of time．They can't imagine the fact that someone can work without pay．My friends and relatives advised me to stop volunteering．I felt hard at some point but I couldn't stop because I loved doing it．I decided not to pay attention to their advice but to continue my work．
One day，a group of young people came to me and said that they were all thankful to me for the changes I had brought into their lives through peer（同龄人）education．I was so happy to hear that because it brought great joy to me．My advice to peers is that we can't succeed in life overnight．We have to work hard to achieve our dreams．Even if you graduate from the best school in the world，it's not enough because what matters most is your skill．The best way to discover who you are is to volunteer．Volunteering does not only allow you to offer your services，but to learn and discover new things and improve your skills．One secret of voluntary work is to avoid thinking about money because that is where the problem lies．
