My husband kissed the baby's cheek, said goodbye to me and then rushed out of the door, into his busy day. With the cold of the morning fading, I fed my baby and it fell fast asleep. Usually I would place it in bed and quickly have the house somewhat in .
This morning, however, I stayed seated, just , with the baby in my arms. The thoughts ran into memories of the with my husband, a father rushing out of the door to meet the obligations ﹙责任﹚of life. It was only a small jump to thoughts of my own .
My mother passed away when I was ten, and as I looked , I could see how much of a family man my dad was. He went to work every morning and returned to his family every evening. He provided food, clothing, warmth, and . He was a faithful father.
Setting the baby down, I dialed the number. I had just realized the of the ordinary﹙普通的﹚daily life going on around us that we often took for granted(理所当然), and that it needed to be recognized(重新认识).
“Hi, Dad.”I said, back tears.
“Hey, Bud. How are you?”, was in his voice.
“Fine, I'm just calling to say... thank you.”I got it out before my throat ﹙喉咙﹚ too much for me to speak.
"What for?"
“For getting up and going to work every morning of my life. Now that I have my own child and I see my husband doing the same, I just wanted to thank you for being ”
There was for a moment as my dad calmed himself down, and with a small tremble ﹙颤抖﹚in his voice he said, "You're welcome, Bud.”
I don't remember much of the rest of the call, that moment of revelation(显露)about my father, I will never forget. Since then, I have realized that those everyday fathers are the true heroes in life. I'm thankful that my father was one of them.

About a week ago, when I was playing basketball at our city park, I noticed a small group of boys picking on(作弄) a smaller boy. They were calling his names and even pushed him to the ground and kicked something in his face. When I saw that, I walked over to the group.
I stepped them and the smaller boy, and asked them politely what this boy had done . One of the boys replied, “He’s weird.” Then I asked one of the boys if he thought his friend was weird, and the was “No.” So, I asked another boy what the word “weird” , and he said, “Different.” That was my cue(暗示). I told them that everyone was , and that they all looked just as different to the other boy as he did to them. They all stood for a moment, and then the most amazing thing happened. One of the boys helped the small boy off the ground and then said sorry to him. He even him to play with them.
I thanked the boy for being so brave. As I looked around, I realized that there were many other people at the park no one else had stopped to help this boy. I felt happy that the boy was to stand up against his friends to help someone in need, but I felt sad that else had even taken a second look.
I hope that I’ve helped them realize that they could make a with a little effort and maybe next time they will be the ones who choose to help.
