Recently we did a survey of students' dream jobs in our class. Here's the report about my group members' ideas.

Mary: I want to be a teacher when I grow up. I think I am very patient and I enjoy working with children. Now, I am interested in all the subjects and work very hard to learn them well. I can get along well with the teachers and make friends with students easily at school. I am sure the kids will like me.

Kate: I am slim and good at dancing and I would like to be a ballet dancer in the future. I spend most of my spare time on ballet training every day. After high school, I will learn dancing lessons in a college.

Mike: I would like to be a writer when I grow up. I like to share my wonderful stones with others. Now I keep reading and writing every day. I also send some of my stories to the magazines.

Lucy: I want to be a singer because I like singing very much. I practise singing every day.

People have their own dreams and work hard for them, because they all know it is not easy to realize them in the future.

The sun gives energy and the earth receives the sun’s energy. The way the earth interacts with the sun’s energy can be displayed in a picture called the earth’s energy budget(预算). It displays the sun’s energy that reaches us and how much of that energy is taken in and how much is thrown back by the earth and its air. Once the energy reaches the earth, some of it is taken by land and oceans. The amount of energy that is taken in influences the temperatures. The energy that is not taken in is thrown back to space.
Generally, the amount of energy coming in is equal to the amount of energy going out. So, we say the earth’s energy budget is balanced. If more energy was coming in than was going out, the earth’s temperature would increase. On the other hand, if too much energy is thrown back, and not taken in, we would see the earth’s temperature dropping.
Of all of the sun’s energy that hits the earth, about 67% is taken in by the land, oceans, air and clouds and about 33% is thrown back into space.
The picture above shows us how ________ hits the earth.
