Your body is special﹣no two people in the world are alike. Although you are different from everyone else, you have exactly the same body parts as the people around you, doing different jobs that keep all of us alive.
What is inside my head?
Your head houses the most valuable part of your body﹣your brain. As you are reading, your eyes send pictures to your brain which makes meaning from what you see. Your brain helps you to remember and think, and make sure your body is doing what it should.
What is my skin for?
Your skin covers your body. In most parts of your body, the skin is just as thick as half a centimeter. If you have your skin cut, it will have a quick cure and stop viruses(病毒)from entering your body. Your skin also helps you feel the heat and coldness of the environment around you. Hair grows from inside the skin. When you feel hot, extra heat comes out through your skin. As a result, your body temperature drops.
How do I move?
Muscles(肌肉)are found in most parts of your body. They work with your bones to help you a lot﹣whenever you cry or smile, eat or speak, walk or dance, etc.
Why do I breathe?
Your body needs to take in oxygen from the air and give out the unwanted carbon dioxide in the body. When you breathe, air comes through your nose and mouth into your lungs where oxygen flows to different parts of your body.
What does my heart do?
Your heart is a very special muscle. It is slightly bigger than your fist(拳头)and grows bigger as you do. If you place your hand on your heart, you will feel your heart beating which forces blood to move around your body.
46. Which part of your body helps you to remember and think?
A. Head.
B. Heart.
C. Skin.
47. The underlined word "houses" in the passage probably means .
A. creates
B. stores
C. builds
48. If you have no skin covering your body, what would happen?
A. Our body can be guarded by our hair.
B. Viruses can't enter our body easily.
C. We can't feel the changes in temperature.
49. What is true fact about your body?
A. Your heart is not the same size from birth.
B. We take in carbon dioxide to stay alive.
C. Our muscles stop working when we nod.
50. Which is the best title for this passage?
A. What Your Body Needs
B. How Your Body Works
C. When Your Body Moves
My biggest challenge is learning how to behave at the dinner table. As you can imagine, things are very different from the way they are at home. For example, you're not supposed to put your bread on your plate. You're supposed to put it on the table! I thought that was pretty strange at first, but now I'm used to it. Another example is that you're not supposed to eat anything with your hands except bread, not even fruit. You have to cut it up and eat it with a fork. Another thing is that it's impolite to say that you're full. If you don't want any more food, you should just say,"That was delicious." Also, you're not supposed to put your elbows on the table. I have to say that I find it difficult to remember everything, but I'm gradually getting used to it. I don't find French customs so strange anymore.

Today is December 15,2030.Influenced by the launch of the first manned mission to Mars next month, you will most likely get a gift card for a space trip.
The interest in trips, 100km above the surface of the Earth, has grown steadily since such a trip began. However, the market has grown much larger this year since the official announcement of the Mars mission. More low﹣cost spacelines have entered the market and you can now find flights for such a trip for as low as ﹩ 3,495. It's very reasonable.
Space tourism(旅游业;观光业)is one of the markets that have developed fast during the last decade, with the opening of the Starbright Hotel on the moon as well as the low orbital hotels that started accepting guests. However, accommodation in space is still expensive for the averagehousehold,so the suborbital(亚轨道的)flights with thirty﹣minute weightlessness during the three﹣hour flight will for some time be the most popular trip.
However, the spacelines might in the future face fierce competition between space elevators(太空升降舱), like the one that is projected to start construction within two years.Once it is fully functional,it will start to ship cargo to space. But it will accept passengers as soon as possible to get back the large investment.Even if the elevator becomes successful,it will take several years before there are more elevators in the world to get in the competition for space traffic with the spacelines.
Those who are looking for a little bit of adventure and have extra money to spend may want to consider a suborbital flight in space. While a suborbital flight may not be the space mission that you have always dreamed of, it will give you the rare opportunity to see what our planet looks like in a high﹣altitude flight outside our atmosphere. So before you enjoy a trip by elevator to space, enjoy a suborbital flight first.
