Tony: Hello, everyone. I am Tony, the group leader. These are my group members, Betty, Daming and Lingling. As we know, Jinhua is a beautiful city with a long history. But you may not know the two longest corridor bridges(廊桥) in China are here. They are Xijin Bridge and Shuxi Bridge. So we chose these two bridges as our project target(项目任务). Here is our presentation.
Betty: I’ll introduce the process. First we made a plan about the time we would need and how to do the project. It took us three weekends to do online searching, visit the bridges, interview the local people and make the leaflet.
Daming: After collecting all the information and doing the necessary study, we have made them into a leaflet as our product. Let’s take a look.
The two bridges are made of wood. They are called “sister bridges” because they look really similar. Xijin Bridge, the longest bridge, is in Yongkang and the second longest is in Wuyi called Shuxi Bridge.
Lingling: What we’d like to share with you most is our gains and feelings. We are all amazed by the wisdom(智慧) of the ancient bridge builders and feel so proud of our hometown.
Tony: Now, what do you think of our project? Your comments and suggestions are always welcome. Thank you.

Some people say it is not easy for a middle-aged person to learn a foreign language. But is it ___(1)___(real)true?
Several years ago, I worked for ___(2)___ English newspaper which was doing such a research. They asked me to learn a new language for one month. Then I had to go to the country and do some “tests” ___(3)___(see)if I could “survive(挺过来)” in different situations.
I chose Spanish(西班牙语)and did a one-month course at a language school and ___(4)___(find)that some Spanish words are very similar to English ones. ___(5)___ example, hola isn’t very different from “hello”. Of course, there are other things which are more difficult. In Spanish you have to change the verbs(动词)for each person. But my ___(6)___(big)problem of all was the pronunciation. I found ___(7)___ was very difficult to pronounce some letters in Spanish, especially r and j. So I had to download ___(8)___(sentence)onto my phone and I listened and practised them again and again.
A month later I went to Spain. A Spanish teacher ___(9)___(call)Paula came and began the test. “Will I survive?” I wasn’t sure enough but _____(10)_____ I wished I would!

We sometimes say the lion is “the king of the jungle” because it is stronger and more dangerous than the other animals. Most other animals in the jungle run more slowly than the lion, so it can hunt better. The lion is the top animal in the land food chain.
In the sea, the shark is at the top of the food chain. Most other sea animals swim much more slowly than it. It can also use its big teeth to catch other sea animals and eat them.
What is at the top of the world's food chain? Humans are! We are not the biggest or fastest, but we are the cleverest! We could not catch up with most animals, so we invented cars and now we can move the fastest. We could not fight better than a lion, so we invented guns. Now we can hunt the best.
People’s inventions help a lot, but they can be dangerous, too. For example, many years ago in Inner Mongolia, people used guns to kill a lot of wild wolves.
The wild wolves usually eat wild rabbits. But in recent years, the number of wild rabbits is becoming bigger and bigger because the number of wild wolves is getting smaller and smaller.
The wild rabbits competed for the grass with the sheep and cows. Much of the grassland became desert because the rabbits destroyed (毁坏) it seriously.
Remember that we are a part of the food chain, we are in danger, too! If we protect animals, we are protecting ourselves. Luckily, people have paid much attention to such problems. We will do more things to keep the balance of ecosystem in the future.
