Do you know that November is National Novel Writing Month（NaNoWriMo）．You can find the NaNoWriMo Young Writer's programme at ywp．nanowrimo．org．It is a challenge to write a 50000﹣word novel in one month．
The programme began in 1999 in San Francisco with only 21 members．Last year，more than 400000 took up the challenge．The writers can choose what they want to write about．On November 1st．writers visit the website and start to update （更新）their word count． They can communicate with other writers there as well．All the writers have to stop writing on November 30th．
It is okay if you have never written a book before．The website provides lesson plans and workbooks for beginners．You can use them to improve writing skills in your novel．Then you can start planning what your novel will be about．

Street Ping Pong— Ping!
Do you like table tennis? If you had travelled to cities in the UK like London or Birmingham last summer, you might have seen one of the dozens of free tables that were there as part of a project （项目） called Ping!.
What is Ping!?
Ping！is a three-year table tennis project. It has been running since 2010 and this year, 2012, is the final year. The idea is to put free table tennis tables in eight different towns in the UK for four weeks during the summer. Each table comes with its own bats and balls and is free to play. You can find the tables outdoors.
What does Ping! hope to achieve?
It would be great if Ping！helped find a new Olympic table tennis star but what Ping! really hopes. to achieve is just to get people playing and having fun together."Putting a ping pong table on the street gives people a chance to connect with other people," said Meera Sodha, Ping! Project Manager.

Several weeks ago, our headmaster, Mr. Gaudi, told us that our school had been chosen to compete on Smart Aleck—a game show which my best friend Carla and I both love. Carla has a good imagination, and I know a lot of history, so we thought we’d be good __35__ for the team.
A few days later, Mr. Gaudi held a meeting with everyone interested in the__36__ . He told us that Smart Aleck uses a five member team. He also said that three more people would be needed as backup（替补）. Unluckily four times that many students were at the meeting. In 1826, a Frenchman named Niepce needed pictures for his business .But he was not a good artist .So he invented a very simple camera. He put it in a window of his house and took a picture of his garden .That was the first photo.
The next important date in the history of photography (摄影) was in 1837. That year, Daguerre, another Frenchman, took a picture of his reading room .He used a new kind of camera in a different way.
