Cameroon is experimenting with Africa's first mobile system to send a heart signal(信号) over a wireless network. The system will give much needed medical aid to heart patients in poor areas.Arthur Zang invented the device called the Cardiopad. He was just 24years old when he invented it.The Cardiopad allows heart examinations to be performed. The results of the tests are sent wirelessly to experts in other parts of the country who can understand them.
Simplice Momo is a 55﹣year﹣old heart patient in a poor an a of the country. He says the device saves him time and money. It is too costly and difficult for him to see a heart expert in the city.
Cameroon has a population of about 22million.But it only has 40heart surgcons. Most are in,the cities of Douala or Yaounde.Sometimes the heart experts needed can only be found outside the country. Now the device allows doctor to send patients'medicalin for mation to expertsin Europe.
Arthur Zang started the Cardiopad project five years ago. Then, the young computer engineer needed moretraining and 45,000 to make the device. His family did not have the money.
Bankers would not give him loans(贷款).So he shared his idea on social media. The president of Cameroon,Paul Biya, provided him with the money for the project.Mr.Zang also received free online training from an engineering school in India.
The Cameroon scientific community considers the Cardiopad extremely effective. The device costs about 4000.The govermment of Cameroon has not been able to provide the device for hospitals in need.Mr.Zang says he has had private investors(投资者)contacthim. But he is more interested in investors who share his vision. That vision is not of money, but of better ways to help save people's lives.

But two months passed, they did not hear from him. Now they had nothing except the old house and they had no money to buy any food. They thought for a long time. Then they decided to sell the house and look for their father. So one day the two brothers said goodbye to their friends and started to go. They got to the station and bought two tickets.

DNA is the whole “map” of the human body. It is something that all humans have, and it tells the body what to do. DNA is the reason that we look like our parents, because we get some of their DNA to make our own.
People have been trying to understand the human body for a long time. In 1860, Mr. Mendel discovered why we look the same as other people in our family. It is because of small things called “genes”(基因)in our body. In 1953, two scientists, Watson and Crick, found out that genes are really messages. They’re written in the DNA with a special language.
In 1961, another two scientists found the first “word” that they could understand in that language. It shows how DNA tells the cell (细胞)to build its parts. So far, scientists have found all the words in the DNA map, but we still don’t understand what they all do. By understanding what just one “word” means, we can help to save people from several illnesses. So the more we understand, the more doctors will be able to do.
Most people hope that this will help to make better medicine and help sick people. Other people worry that when we learn more “words” and find out more information, we will use it in the wrong way. Just to make people more attractive (有吸引力的), or stop sick people getting jobs. When did Mr. Mendel discover why we look the same as other people in our family?
