? Sports can help you keep fit and get in touch with nature. However, whether you are on the mountains, in the rivers, or on the grassland, you should know that your sport of choice might have great influence on the environment.
② Some sports are resource-hungry. Golf, as you may know, eats up not only large areas of countryside, but also tons of water. Besides, all kinds of harmful things and a lot of energy are used to keep its courses(球场),This leads to serious environmental problems. For example, in Portugal and Spain, golf is considered to be the most important reason for water shortage(短缺)io some areas.
③ There are many environment-friendly sports. Power walking is one of them that you could do today. You don’t need anything special but a good pair of shoes; and you don’t have to worry about nature and your money. Simple and free, power walking -can also keep you fit. If you often walk, it will be good for your heart and bones.
④Nowadays more and more people choose to play "green sports". They play sports outdoors, in the countryside or other open spaces. There is no special things needed. And best of all, it’s free.

Children arc children after all, and most of them speak their mind. When they are just toddlers(幼儿), they are all lovely and lively. And it's so interesting to watch them speak like a grown-up. But as they grow, these same kids seem annoying and ill-mannered if they try to be a grown-up.
Conflicts(矛盾)go between parents and children. It's hard to tell who are right and who are wrong. A child of 7-8 always finds some reasons to have a conflict with it's parents. Whether it is about some toy, studies, a party or a company, there is always a difference between them. And it becomes worse when they answer you back. Scientists tell us that children should be treated with care. Yes, sure they should respect their elders.
We are partly responsible(有责任的)for this. At an early age we encourage children to behave like adults, just because we find it funny. The kids on the other hand consider this same behavior as normal and get used to it. And when it is not funny for us any more, we expect them to stop it, but by then it is already too late. Only when they reach a certain maturity will the children realize that answering back and being rude are not acceptable(可接受的).Until then, most of the time their behavior is difficult to change, unless by force(暴力).And use of force is against the every good idea, as it weakens the child's confidence.
So it is one thing to bring a child into this world but quite another to make them into well mannered citizens. The best way is to be a good example ourselves, as our children are the mirrors of us adults.

Like most English children, I learned foreign languages at school. When I made my first visit to the United States, I was sure I could have a nice and easy holiday without any language problem. But how wrong I was!
At the American airport, I was looking for a public telephone to tell my friend Danny that I had arrived. An American asked if he could help me. "Yes," I said, '1 want to give my friend a ring."
"Well, that's nice. Are you getting married?" he asked. "No," I replied, "I just want to tell him I have arrived." "Oh," he said, "there is a phone downstairs on the first floor." "But we're on the first floor now," I said.
"Well, I don't know what you are talking about Maybe you aren't feeling too well after your journey," he said. "Just go and wash up, and you will feel a lot better." And he went off, leaving me wondering where on earth I was: At home we wash up after a meal to get the cups and plates clean. How can I wash up at an airport?
At last we did meet. Danny explained the misunderstanding: Americans say "to give someone a call", but we English say "to give somebody a ring". When we say "to wash your hands", they say "to wash up". And Englishmen start numbering from the ground floor so the first floor is the second for Americans.

Look closely at your hands. Are they clean? It doesn't matter how many times you wash your hands, tiny microbes (微生物) still stay on them. But don't worry. Most microbes don't harm you.
Now scientists say the microbes on our hands could be used in a surprising way; fighting crime, According to a recent survey microbes as well as fingerprints(指纹) could be used to indentify the criminal.
Everyone has his own set of microbes on the hands. That is to say, if you and your best friend were able to see and compare all the microbes on your hands, your hands probably would look different. Some microbes only show up on your hands while others live only on your friend's hands.
When you work on a computer you leave the microbes from your hands on the keyboard. The scientists can easily tell the owner of the keyboard by looking at the microbes on it. Even if you don't leave your fingerprints behind, your microbes may give you away.
Noah Fierer, a scientist, says. "You can only clean a fingerprint, but you can't sterilize (使无菌) a surface just by wiping(擦) it off," He says that scientists have a lot more work to do before the microbe is used as a useful tool.
According to the passage,_______ could be used to identify the criminal.

A.fingerprints B.scientists' hands
C.microbes D.fingerprints and microbes on people's hands

Paragraph 3 tells us that________.

A.our hands look similar B.the microbes will make the keyboard dirty.
C.we should compare hands often D.we have our own sets of microbes.

A.fingerprints are no longer useful in fighting crime
B.microbes can be found on everyone's hands.
C.unlike microbe fingerprints can be cleaned if people wipe them
D.the microbe is used as a useful tool

C.Noah Fiercer Does Research Into Microbes D.Fingerprints Help Catch Criminals
