假如英语课上老师要求同学们交换修改作文，请你修改你同桌写的以下作文。文中共有10处语言错误，要求你在错误的地方增加、删除或修改某个单词。
增加：在缺词处加一个漏字符号（∧），并在其下面写上该加的词。
删除：把多余的词用斜线（﹨）划掉。
修改：在错的词下划一横线，并在该词下面写上修改后的词。
注意：1. 每处错误及其修改均仅限一词;
2. 只允许修改10处, 多者(从第11处起)不计分。
One rainy day while I was walking home with one of my friend, a truck came to a stop besides me.The driver put the window down and offered us a umbrella because he found we were wet through. I stood there and couldn’t believe in that a complete stranger is so thoughtful. The man insisted, so I grateful l accepted the offer, thanked him and watched the truck disappear down the road. This man might need the umbrella himself, and he preferred to give it to everyone else. It was a lesson to us and it was possible give without expect anything in return.

How are you? I've got a wonderful news to tell you. I have offered a scholarship at a university in Australia for my further education. One hundred and twenty student took the exam for it, but only a few were chosen and I was one of them. Therefore, my parents are not happy about it. They are strong against my going there. They say it is too far away that they will not see me for a whole year and they are afraid that I will feel alone. They can't imagine a girl so young live alone. They advised me to study in the capital instead. Then I'll be able to continue living with them. How can I persuade them to accept the fact what I have grown up?

Dear friends,
It is real a good chance to have all of you here. We have spent several precious weekend in the English Club. Because we have been members for a short period of time, we have made a great progress. That is because we are all very much active and the activities are not only enjoyable and also helpful. Besides, the foreign teachers here work hard and try his best to make the activities lively and interested. I am very pleased to say that all of us greatly improved our spoken English so far. My classmate Liu Hui looks tired this week. This morning, I asked him if he had trouble in fall asleep. If you want to study well, you should have had a good sleep every night,” I said. Though he disagreed with me. He believed that if he studied for two more hour every night, he would catch up others. There’s a old man in our village calling Old Joe, who is said to be 110 years old. I don’t know whether it is true because of he doesn’t have a birth certificate. All his personal papers are destroyed during World WarⅡ. Sometimes I doubt if he is really that old, and it doesn’t matter. He certainly looks very old, and of course, he is often asked question by people who want to know the secret of long life. Old Joe always answers them like this, “If you offered a cigarette, never accept it; if you are annoyed by someone, never lose his temper; and if you are asked foolishly questions, never answer it!”
