Last Sunday I went to Beijing National Stadium. At gate I happened to meet some young America tourists. I greeted to them in English and then we began to chat. From the chat I learned that they were college students traveling in Beijing but most of them were fond of Chinese culture. They were busy taking pictures and they seem to be much impressed by the changes which had been taken place in the past few years. After come out of the Stadium, we went to the Water Cube and had a good time there. We exchanged our email address so that we could keep touch with each other later. They thanked us again and again. I was very glad to have the chance to practise my oral English.

If you understood another culture， it can help you with your language learning. This is because your background knowledge will make easier for you to understand the content of a reading passage. For example, if you have some knowledges about History and geography of Australia, it will make it easier for you to understand passages relating to Australia. In the same way, if you have watched the film The Mutiny on the Bounty you will know the background about the journey of Captain Bligh across the Pacific Ocean. So you will be more better able to appreciate what great Captain Bligh’s achievement was in second unit. But the more you read and the wider your generally knowledge about another culture is, the quicker and easier your learn of that language will be.

During the summer holidays this year, I thought I should do anything meaningful instead of staying at home, so I have got a job at a KFC fast food restaurant, worked there as a cleaner．I worked seven hours a day for three weeks．
The job was hard and bored and seemed endless, which made me so tired that I nearly gave it in half way, but I stuck to it with determinations．Every day I started off for work early in the morning and got home lately in the evening．Finally I finished the job before the new term begins．
Now, I understand that labor means．I think it is really successful experience．

Many years before , I stepped into a bookstore for some
books I wanted them ．While I was there I saw a young
boy of about 12 came into the store ．The boy wanted
to buy a geography book ．Geography books costs
one dollar each , but he had only 62 cent．I decided
to follow him to see that he could succeed ．Four
stores we entered , and four times he disappointed ．
Luckily , at the fifth store he got an used book for 50
cents ．Having learned why he wanted the book, and
the bookseller gave him some written paper and a
new pencil as a gift ．

Last Saturday, I wanted very much to see a film together with my brother after supper. On my way to the cinema, we happen to meet an American named Peter, who had lost his way, looked worried. When he told us that he wasn't able to find the hotel, we decided take him there. When we went to the hotel, we told of Peter the great changes that had taken place in our country in the past few year, and he told us a lot of things about the youths in the U.S.A.
　 Although my brother and I missed a interesting film, we felt very happily, for we had not only helped Peter out of trouble and also learnt something by him. （词数123）
