An adopted American girl who was dying from bone marrow(骨髓)failure has survived a successful, transplant thanks to her Chinese donor(捐献者). She has come to China, with her family, to meet her donor at a ceremony held in Beijing.

A big hug is the only way to express feelings at the moment, as Kailee Wells is embraced by her donor Dr Wang Lin. Kailee Wells said, ”Xie Xie Ni, Dr Wang Lin, for giving a part of your 1ife to me.”
Dr Wang cannot control his emotions after seeing 10-year-old Kailee's miraculous recovery. Dr Wang Lin. Said, “To see this beautiful and spirited little girl standing before me today, I feel so relieved, so happy.”
Born in the central province of Hunan, Kailee was found abandoned in Changde. She spent a year in an orphanage before being adopted by the Wells family in New Mexico.
At 5, her bone marrow stopped producing red and white blood cells. But her family never gave up hope of finding a perfect match, and after two unsuccessful plants, Kailee finally had a third，which was successful．
Kailee’s mother Linda Wells said, “well last Christmas，we were a11 very worried about Kailee，and we were not sure at that time whether she would be here this year with us now-and here we ware in China, in Beijing with this wonderful celebration and meeting Dr Wang Lin. It’s a true blessing.
China’s bone marrow donor registry has grow to more than 700 000，thanks to increased awareness of the procedure by Chinese citizens.
Hong Junling, director of Red Cross Society, China said, “In the past, if a patient became sick，we had to turn to donor programs overseas or in Taiwan to apply. Nowadays, for the most part，our patients know that if they become sick they can first try the China Red Cross database.”
The Wells family will stay in China until next week，during which they will help recruit more bone marrow donors.

Maurice Sendak’s children’s book, Where the Wild Things Are, published in 1963, has become very successful throughout the years and was made into a movie earlier this year.
The book’s main character is a boy named Max who gets into trouble with his mother and is sent to bed without any supper. Before long, Max’s room magically becomes a forest, and he sails away to a land where monsters live. Max isn’t scared, though, and becomes king of the wild things, but after a while, he begins feeling homesick. Max sails back home and his supper is still hot when he arrives in his bedroom.
Many teachers and professors like this story and use it to help children develop creativity and imagination. Melina Davis, an education professor, said she likes how the book contains a couple of pages that have only pictures on them. “This allows children to shape the story themselves,” she said.
The book contains a few of larger words that some parents worry may confuse children, but experts say those words help improve children’s reading skills and challenge them.
Davis said the book is well written which helps kids get involved in the story. “The book talks about what all children go through, like ‘I was naughty but my mommy still loves me’,” Davis said.
The book also encourages children to face their fears. “I think it’s really good to show that Max is friends with the monsters,” Davis said. “Kids can find out monsters aren’t always the thing under the bed that’s going to scare them. I think this is good because it shows that the children can go to scary places but still have a positive experience.”
Since the book has been successful throughout the years, a movie was recently made and many people are excited to see it. Davis said she thinks the movie will be wonderful but it might be a little scary for younger children. “You don’t want bad dreams over a book that’s extremely wonderful,” Davis said.

School phobia is a type of illness which causes students to be afraid to go to school. A teacher can meet the child at the door and take him or her to class, and provide support so that the child feels a friendly adult is always available.
