此题要求改正所给短文中的错误。对标有题号的每一行做出判断：如无错误，在该行右边横线上画一个(√)；如有错误(每行只有一个错误)，则按下列情况改正：
该行多一个词：把多余的词用斜线(＼)划掉，在该行右边横线上写出该词，并也用斜线划掉。
该行缺一个词：把缺词处加一个漏字符号(∧)，在该行右边横线上写出该加的词。

There’s an old man in our village calling Old Joe who said to be 110 years old. This can’t
be proved though he doesn’t have a birth certificate. All his personal papers were destroy
during the World War Ⅱ.I don’t know if he really is so old, and it doesn’t matter. He certainly
looks very old. Of course, he is often asked question by people who want to be told the secret
of long life. Old Joe always answered them like this, “If you are offered a cigarette, never
accept it; if you are annoyed by someone, never lose his temper; and if you are asked foolishly
questions, never answer them.”

A British woman was caught on camera dumped a cat into a rubbish bin. Mary Bale, the 45-year-old bank worker, is now accused of causing unnecessary suffering to the animal, as well as failing to provide for the cat with a suitable environment. Bale will appear before magistrates（地方官员）in Coventry, central England, in October 19, 2010 to answer the charges. Both offence can carry a prison sentence and a lifetime ban from keeping animals. The cat, Lola, believed to have been stuck in the plastic bin for 15 hours until her owners Darryl and Stephanie Mann hear her miaowing（喵喵叫）. They found out that happened after checking footage from a camera she had installed at their house. The video was then posted on the video sharing site YouTube but a campaign was launched with some contributors making death threats against Bale.

“Growing pains” is my favorite American TV play because it is very interested. The play tells humorous stories happen in Green’s family. With such stories it make people think about life, but therefore attracts the audience. It is also a window which we can learn about American society. And there were many meaningful things that are worth think of, such as the relationship between parents and children in many American family. It is quite different from those in China. The play is very popular. We’d better not missing the chance to enjoy it.
