As the College Entrance Examination is drawing nearby, some students would rather expect
good luck than to make every effort to study．They think success results good luck．Whether they can be admitted to key universities depend on luck．However, others insist that diligence is a mother of success．Only by working hard can they achieve what they want．Since they fail sometimes, they don’t give up, for they believe that success lies in our own hands．As for me, I’m in favor of the latter opinion．Luck doesn’t come alone．It goes hand by hand with hard working．Sometimes, some students are lucky enough to succeed, but such luck won’t last long because it is not basing on their own abilities．
In my English class, there is a young boy who never talk. The boy, Michael, simply does not talk in class. No matter so much talking is occurred around him, Michael is never affected. Instead, he sits quietly at his desk and listens attentive to the rest the students talking and the teacher speaking. One day, Michael was surprised us all by raising his hand. He was actually attempting to talk. Interesting and curious at that was going to happen when he got called on, we all leaned forward against our desks looking at him with our eyes wide open. There was total silence in the room as the teacher call aloud his name.
My younger brother John has a toothache last night. This morning, my mother took him to see a dentist. Go into hospital was always very frightened for John. He struggled to get away while the dentist was giving him examination. He yelled terribly when the dentist was pulling his tooth. Several minutes late, the dentist got everything finished. “I’m sorry, madam, and I shall have to charge you 200 dollars for pulling your boy tooth. ” “200 dollars! Why, you said that he would charge only 40 dollars for such work!” “Yes, but your boy yelled so loudly that he had scared four other patient out of the office.”
My wife and I went to a supermarket, there we bought some cold drinks and cakes. After we came out of the supermarket, we noticed that in the front of the supermarket was a nice little garden with benches for people relax on. We sat there and started enjoying the things we have just bought. There was ten small cakes in the bag and we couldn’t eat all of it. I wanted to share, but of whom? A young boy appeared. He was looking into the trashcan for nothing to eat. We had just finished three of the ten cakes. So, I took the remained pieces and gave them to him. He thanked me and ran away in a happily mood.
