文中有10处语言错误, 每句中最多有两处。错误涉及一个单词的增加、删除或修改。
增加:在缺词处加一个漏字符号（∧）, 并在其下写出该加的词。
删除:把多余的词用斜线（\）划掉。
修改:在错的词下划一横线, 并在该词下面写出修改后的词。
注意: 1.每处错误及其修改均仅限一词;
2.只允许修改10处, 多者(从第11处起)不计分。
There’s an old man in our village calling Old Joe who said to be 110 years old. This can’t
be proved though he doesn’t have a birth certificate. All his personal papers were destroy
during the World War Ⅱ.I don’t know if he really is so old, and it doesn’t matter. He certainly
looks very old. Of course, he is often asked question by people who want to be told the secret
of long life. Old Joe always answered them like this, “If you are offered a cigarette, never
accept it; if you are annoyed by someone, never lose his temper; and if you are asked foolishly
questions, never answer them.”

Once upon a time there was a rich man. He had a lot of money, but he felt unhappy all the times. Finally, the rich man left for home to look for happiness. He visited many places and met many rich men. All of them said they were not happy, too. On his way home, the rich man saw a farmer work in the field. He went up to the farmer and asked, “Could you tell me if you felt happy?” “Yes, I’m quite happier. I always feel satisfying about everything in my life,” the farmer answered. “Please tell me how you find happiness,” asked the rich man. The farmer answered with smile on his face. “It’s very easy of me to answer the question. If you work hardly, have three meals a day and go to bed early without worries, you’ll be the happiest man in the world.”

There was a lot of passengers on a city bus. When the bus arrived at a stop, the pretty woman got on the bus. All the passengers kept their eyes fixing on her. An old man near the door attempted to get up, and the woman forced him back into her seat. “Thank you, but please sit down,” she said. “But, madam…” replies the man. “You really needn’t to do that since I’m young,” interrupted the woman. Later, the man tried to rise again but stopped by the woman. Finally the man managed to rise and said angry, “The bus has carried me three blocks beyond my house. I have to get on.”

A man was driving on the road．Sudden his car stopped．He got out of the car tried to find out the trouble．“It’s the motor．” said voice behind him．He was surprising and turned around．

Two years before, I traveled to Brazil and I rented for a car. Unfortunate, I had an accident and hit another car, and I needed to stay in a hospital for at least two week. I called my parents, so I did not tell them what had happened. I knew that they will be worried about myself because I was so farther away, and that my mother would not sleep if she knew the accident. Therefore, I told them interested stories and how I was enjoying Brazil. As a result, nobody knew truth. I still think that it was the right thing to do.

Recently we have a hot discussion on if people should keep pets at home in cities or not.
Some students think it is a good idea to keep pets because of many old people living alone can get
comfort from them. Beside, getting along well with animals will make our life interested. On the
other hand, other students are against the idea. In their opinions, if too many people keep pets at
home, it’s bad to the environment. What is worse, pets may make too much noisy and even attack
people. I like animals, but I don’t think it bad to keep pets at home. But we must take measures to
keep them polluting our environment.
