Yang Li, a five-year-old girl living next door to me, very clever. Because she is not old enough to go to the school, she often asks me to teach herself to read, write and draw. She studies hardly and soon she learns a lot. One evening last month I was doing my English homeworks when she came to my house. She asked me how I learned English. “You would find English a bridge for so many knowledge,” I said. She then wanted to learn English, either. She has learned many English words so far but her parents are very grateful to me.

Besides, it was an accident happening in a snowy morning that changed my attitude . I was on the way to school and was waiting for the green light with my classmate John while a girl was knocked down by passing car. Without hesitation we ran to her and gave her first aid the instant when we saw it . Soon many help was given to him by the people nearby. Because we sent her to the nearest hospital in time, she was able to receive proper treatment . By the time she left the hospital, she has written a letter expressing her gratitude to those giving help. We both felt so proud that from then on we made up our mind to be always kind and responsible men.

When I first learn to write in English, I ran into much difficulties. The main problem was that I always thought in Chinese and tried to translate everything that I came across it while I was reading into my own language. My teacher advised myself to keep a diary. I followed his advices and put down 100 words or so each day.
Soon I began to enjoy talk to myself as I was learning to express myself with simple English. One day I wrote a story and showed to my teacher. He liked it very much that he read it to the class. All said that the story was a good one. Their words were an great encouragement to me.

As we know, air pollution is serious environmental problem in our city. Every day we had to take in very dirty air, which isn’t good for our healthy. To make sure the air fresh, we should keep the following suggestions on mind. Firstly, we should take a bus or ride a bicycle as much as possible instead of drive a car. Secondly, we shouldn’t throw litter here and there but put them into the dustbin. Thirdly, some factories should be closed and moved out of the city.
