I first met Li Ming at a frien
d birthday party five years ago. Then I invited Li Ming over in my place. We listen to my CDs together and soon became best friends. Three years ago, Li Ming’s parents invited I to spend two wonderful week in Qingdao with them during the summer holiday. Li Ming and I loved walking along the beautifully beaches there. Reading English newspapers are my favorite activity. When I entered into high school, I began to enjoy doing such work. Under the teacher’s help, I realize that reading English articles is of great important. It’s a good way to improve my English. I’ve learned many new words and expression by doing so. I also get much information, included news about China and the world outside. It opened my eyes widely. That I love most is the section about TV programs in the coming week. I dislike reading long articles there are many new words. I will work hard to keep on even it’s a particularly hard task for me.

When I first learned to write in English, I run into many difficulties．The main problem was in that I always thought in Chinese but tried to translate everything into Chinese．My teacher advised me to keep diaries．I followed her advices．Happily it worked．Soon I began to enjoy talk to myself on paper as I was learning to express me in simple English. One day I wrote a short story and showed to my teacher．She liked it very much that she read it to the class．Everyone said the story was the good one, I was great encouraged by their words．

a summer night in Taiwan, Xiao Hong was going on her way to school happily then

I’m writing to tell you something about how we students use the Internet．As we all know, the Internet is playing a important part in our daily life．We often read news at home and abroad and learning foreign languages by ourselves on the Internet．Sometimes we sent e-mails to our families as well as our friends．Beside, we listen music, enjoy films and play computer games on it．We can even do shopping without leaving our homes．
However, it has its disadvantages．We waste too much time playing the electronic games, that has a bad effect on our studies．What’s worse, the bad information on the Internet do great harm to them．I hope we can make the use of the Internet proper for our studies．
