Waiting for the airplane to take off, I was happy to get a seat by myself. Just then, an air hostess approached me and asked, “Would you mind 21 your seat? The party began shortly after Mr. Wood, who lived in the flat below, signed to himself as he heard excited voices and the noisy music. I used to be ashamed of my grandma. I know that's a 36 thing to say, but it was true until today, so I have to 37 it.

On August 26, 1999, New York City experienced a terrible rainstorm. The rain caused the streets to __36__ and the subway system almost came to a stop.
