So my first week at college is over! No lectures this morning so I think I’d email you and let you know what things are going.
I’m glad to say that anything has worked out fine in the dorm. I remember asking for a 
room as far away from the lifts as possible and they find me a comfortable one second floor. There are two girls from my course here and I plan to make friend with them so we can help each other on the course work. Everyone else seems very nice and warmly here.
Well, I had better to stop now. I’m going to attend mine first lesson this afternoon, for I’ve got some preparation to make, Keep in touch.

I'd like to tell you something more about the problem of pollution we
are facing to. As we know, the factory besides our school gives off heavy
smoke all day long. Very loud voices hurt our ears. Rubbish and waste
are thrown here or there. It also sends out polluting water and poisonous
gas. All this has made a great harm to the health and study of the teachers
and students. But with time goes on, a little has been done to change the
situation. I don't think we could study well unless the problem is solved.

I’m writing to request a valuable chance to be one of the host family for the British students. We have a large and clean house, where lies in a beautiful area of the city. I’m good at English and my parents are all professors of English, so I’m sure we won’t have difficult communicating with English speakers. My father is a excellent driver and we will very glad to show foreign students around some nearby places of interest in our own car. Last month we were received two American students. We have a great time. However, my mother cooks well, so the students will be able to enjoy delicious Chinese food. I would greatly appreciate if I could have the chance to make friends with them.

Last Sunday, I went sightseeing with my friends in the Fairy Lake Park. The park was full of beauty of spring, with the sun shining and birds sing. When I was enjoying the fantastic scenery around, something unpleasant caught their eyes. A young couple in a boat was eating, talking and laughing loudly as if they were the only people in the world. Which is worse, they spat and even threw rubbish into the lake, total ignoring the noticeable sign “No Littering” nearby. What shame!
Such behavior leaves me deep in thought. If all visitors to the Fairy Lake Park do as the couple did so, the lake will be severely polluted or soon turned into a huge dustbin.

Last week I went to a movie, which was very moved. It was a sad movie about a mother and her sons. When the child was a little boy, his mother was very poor that she had to send him to rich family who had no child. The boy received a very good education and twenty years late became a doctor. In his hospital, he had a patient, who was an old lady. He didn’t care too much of her, for she could hardly afford the medical care. One evening, the lady died quietly of a serious illness but on her bed, the doctor found a letter, in it he discovered the truth that she was his mother. He had wanted to call her mother, but it was too late.
