When I come across a good article in reading newspapers, I often want to cut and keep it.But just as I am about to do so, I find the article on the 36 side is as much interesting. It may be a discussion of the way to 37 in good health, or 38 about how to behave and conduct oneself in society. If I cut the front article, the opposite one is likely to 39 damage, leaving out half of it or keeping the text 40 the title. Therefore, the scissors would 41 before they start, 42 halfway done when I find out the 43 result.
Sometimes two things are to be done at the same time, both worth your 44 .You can only take up one of them, the other has to wait or be 45 up.
But you know the future is unpredictable—the changed situation may not allow you to do what is left 46 .Thus you are 47 in a difficult position and feel sad.How 48 that nice chances and brilliant ideas should gather around all at once? It may happen that your life 49 greatly on your preference of one choice to the other.
In fact that is what 50 is like: we are often 51 with the two opposite sides of a thing which are both desirable like a newspaper cutting. It often occurs that your attention is drawn to one thing only 52 we get into another. The 53 may be more important than the latter and give rise to divided mind.I 54 remember a philosopher's remarks: "When one door shuts, another opens in life." So a casual 55 may not be a bad one.

The other day I was talking to a stranger on the bus; he told me that he had a good 36in Chicago and he wondered if, by any chance, I 37 to know him . For a moment, I thought he might be 38 ,but I could tell from the expression on his face that he was not. He was 39 . I felt like saying that it was ridiculous (可笑的) to 40 that out of all the millions of people in Chicago I could possibly have ever bumped into his friend. But, 41 , I just smiled and reminded him that Chicago was a very 42 city. He nodded, and I thought he was going to be content to drop the subject and talk about something else. But I was wrong. He was silent for a few minutes, and then he 43 to tell me all about his friend.
His friend’s main 44in life seemed to be tennis. He was an excellent tennis player , and he 45 had his own tennis court. There were a lot of people with swimming 46 , yet there were only two people with private tennis court; his friend in Chicago was one of them. I told him that I knew several 47 like that, including my brother, who was a doctor in California. He 48 that maybe there were more private courts in the country than he 49 but he did not know of any others. Then he asked me 50 my brother lived in California. When I said Sacramento, he said that was a coincidence 51 his Chicago friend spent the summer in Sacramento last year and he lived next door to a 52 who had a tennis court in his backyard. I said I felt that really was a coincidence (巧合) because my next-door neighbour had gone to Sacramento last summer and had 53 the house next to my brother’s house. For a moment, we stared at each other, but we did not say anything.
“Would your friend’s name happen to be Roland Kirkwood?” I asked finally. He 54 and said, “Yes. Would your brother’s name happen to be Dr Rey Hunter?” It was my 55 to laugh. “Yes,” I replied.

One night recently, I was driving down a two-lane highway at about 60 miles an hour. A car approached from the 36 direction at about the same speed. As we 37 each other, I caught the other driver’s eye for only a second. I wondered whether he might be 38 , as I was, how dependent we were on each other at that moment. I was relying on him not to fall 39 , not to be put off by a phone conversation, not to cross over into my lane and bring my life to a sudden 40 . Though we had 41 spoken a word to each other, he relied on me in just the same way.
Multiplied a million times over, I believe that is the way the world 42 . At some 43 , we all depend upon one another. Sometimes that dependence requires us 44 not to do something like crossing over the double yellow line. And sometimes it requires us to act 45 , with friends or even with 46 .
As technology 47 our world, the need increases for cooperative action among nations. In 2003, doctors in five nations were quickly organized to identify the SARS virus, which 48 thousands of lives. The threat of international terrorism has shown itself to be a 49 problem, one requiring coordinated action by police and intelligence forces across the world’ We must recognize that our fates are not ours 50 to control.
In my own life, I’ve put great stock in 51 responsibility. 52 , as the years have passed, I’ve also come to believe that there are moments when one must rely upon the good faith and judgment of 53 . So, while each of us faces the case of driving alone down a 54 road, what we must learn is that the approaching light may not be a threat, but a shared moment of 55 .

One day I decided to quit.I quitted my job, my relationship, myspirituality. I wanted to quit my life.
I went to the36 to have one last talk with God. "Can you give me one good37 not to quit?" His answer surprised me.
"Look around. Do you see the fern(蕨类植物) and the bamboo? When I planted their seeds, I took good care of them. The fern quickly grew from the earth.38 nothing came from the bamboo seed. During the following three years, the fern grew more plentiful. And39 , nothing came from the bamboo seed. But I did not quit on the bamboo. Then in the fifth year a40 sprout(新芽) emerged from the earth. Compared to the fern it was41 small and insignificant. But just 6 months later the bamboo42 to over 100 feet tall. It had spent the five years growing43 . Those roots made it strong and gave it 44 it needed to survive. I wouldn’t give any of my creations a challenge it could not45 .”
He said to me. "All this time you have been struggling, you have46 been growing roots. I would not quit on the bamboo.47 will I ever quit on you. Don't48 yourself with others. The bamboo had a different49 from the fern. Yet they both make the forest beautiful. Your time will 50 . You will rise high! "
"How high should I rise?" I asked.
"How high will the bamboo rise?" He asked 51 .
"As high as it can?" I52 .
"Yes," He said. "Give me glory53 rising as high as you can."
I left the forest and bring back this story. I hope it can help you see that God will never 54 on you. Never regret a day in your life. Good days give you happiness. Bad days give you55 . Both are necessary to life.

Whenever my kids have a party at school, I am the mom who always signs up to bring the juice boxes. It’s not because I’m 36 or that I don’t care if my kids have a good party. I am just not good at making homemade bread into holiday-themed shapes like other mothers. However, I’m happy to try, even though it’ll take me a long time to do it.
People say that housewives should have the 37 to make delicious meals, keep their houses clean, and 38 every minute of their child’s life. Their words used to upset me a lot. I felt that I should also be able to do those things as a housewife. So when I couldn’t make the turkey-shaped cookies, I 39 feeling like a failure as a mom.
After many 40 attempts at baking, and many afternoons spent crying over my inabilities as a mother, I finally accepted the 41 that my lot(命运) in life is to be the juice box mom. I worked hard to be the 42 one in the elementary school. And after one of my daughter’s class parties, it 43 . Her teacher stopped me as I was leaving and said,"Thank you so much for always bringing 44 drinks. Sometimes parents forget that other children will also 45 class parties, and they end up being left out because we don’t have enough drinks for everyone."
I just accepted her appreciation, rather than telling her that I brought extra drinks because I could 46 remember how many kids were in the class. But her appreciation taught me an important lesson: I’m not a failure as a mom.
Not everyone is cut out to be a(n) 47 mom. I believe it’s okay to be the juice box mom. I may not bake cookies and decorate them beautifully, but I provided something to drink. And I think that’s just as important.
