When I was in the ninth grade, my parents started fighting. I could hear them   36   at each other at night. It always seemed like they were fighting about me. I started to   37   and couldn’t fall asleep. Some nights I didn’t feel like I   38   at all. My grades really started to   39   too. It was hard to pay attention during class because I felt so   40   all the time.
My mom had to take me to see a therapist(治疗专家). On the way, I   41   to worry even more. What would my friends   42   me if they knew I was going to see a therapist? What if the therapist couldn’t   43    me?
It was not that   44  . My therapist asked me a lot of questions and then we talked about how my life might   45   if I was able to get more sleep.   46   I understood how the future could be better, I felt really   47   to try new things. At the end of the session, I was sent home with a piece of paper called a sleep diary. When I woke up each morning, I had to answer all these questions about my sleep.
48  , she gave me homework related to my sleep. I wasn’t   49   to text or be on my computer after 8 pm. If I couldn’t fall asleep after about ten minutes, she wanted me to get up and do something in another room that would help me to   50   and feel sleepy.
During the therapy sessions, she was a cheerleader for my life and kept   51   out all the things I was doing right. With her help, it was so much easier to notice the   52   things that were happening all around me.
After about two months of seeing my therapist, I was sleeping at least eight hours a night, sometimes even nine! I felt happier. I could   53  . My grades got better. Basically, I felt like myself! It was so much better to admit that something was   54   and to do something to fix it   55   just watch my whole life get worse and worse.

One windy spring day, I observed young people having fun using the wind to fly their kites. Multicolored 26 of varying shapes and sizes filled the bright skies like beautiful birds darting and 27 . As the strong wind blow against the kites, a 28 kept them in control.
Instead of 29 away with the wind they arose against it to achieve great 30 . They shook and pulled, 31 the control string and the long tail 32 them in tow(受支配), facing upward and against the wind. As the kites 33 and trembled against the string, they seemed to say, "Let me go! Let me go! I want to be 34 !" They soared beautifully even as they fought the restriction(约束) of the string. 35 , one of the kites succeeded in breaking loose. "Free at last" , it seemed to say "Free to fly with the wind".
Yet freedom from 36 simply put it at the 37 of an unsympathetic breeze. it dropped ungracefully(不雅地) to the ground and 38 in a wild mass of weeds and string against a dead bush. "Free at last" -- free to lie powerlessly in the dirt, to be blown 39 along the ground, and to lodge lifelessly against the first obstruction.
How much like kites we sometimes are. The Heaven gives us adversities and restrictions, rules to 40 from which we can grow and gain strength. Control is a 41 counterpart to the winds of opposition. Some of his tug at the rules so hard that we42 soar to reach the heights we might have obtained. We keep part of the commandment and never rise 43 enough to get our tails off the ground.
Let us each rise to the great heights, 44 that some of the controls that we may be unhappy under are actually the steadying force that helps us 45 and achieve.

When I was a small child, during the war, we were very poor and we lived in a faraway village. One day, on the road, I found the __36__ pieces of a mirror. There was a German motorcycle accident.
I tried to find all the pieces and put them __37__, but it was not possible, so I kept only the __38__ piece and I made it round. I began to __39__ with it as a toy and became greatly attracted by the __40__ that I could reflect(反射)light to dark places where the sun would never shine in __41___holes and some other dark places. It became a __42__ for me to get light into the darkest places I could find.
I __43__ the little mirror, and, as I ___44__ up, I would take it out when I had nothing to do and __45__ the game. As I became a __46__, I grew to understand that this was not __47__a child’s game but a metaphor(象征)for what I might do with my life. I came to __48___ that I am not the light or the source(来源)of light, but light—truth, understanding, knowledge—is __49___, and it will shine in many dark places only if I reflect it.
I am just a single piece of a mirror whose ___50__ design and shape I do not know. __51___, with what I have I can reflect light into the dark places of this __52__, into the black places in the___53__ of men—and change some things __54___ some people.
