When we learn English, we always find we have difficulties in remembering the names of the months. Therefore, if we know something about the history of the months, possible it won’t be very hard for us to remember them. The followed is one example. January was named by God Janus. He was a strange god because he has two faces. He could look in the two directions. He could look forward or backward at the same time. He was the god of endings and beginnings. January is the month that one looks forward to the New Year and thinks about the past year.
Now can you share us the stories about the rest of the months?
I'd like to tell you why I learn English. I often read English aloud and try learn something important by hearts, which helps me remember it easily and form into the good habit of thinking in English．I listen to a lot and talk with others in English．In this way, I was improved both my hearing and my spoken English．I keep a diary in English every day but my spoken English is becoming better and better．I also try my best to master the necessary grammar knowledge. By this means, I can express itself in English correct. That's the way I have been learning English. I hope it will be useful to you．That's all. Thank you．
If I have the honor to be chose to work for the 29th Olympic Games, I will at first improve my English so that I can talk easily about foreign visitors. Second, I will learn more about history of the Olympics as good as the 2008 Olympic Games. Third, Since I was familiar with Beijing, I can help visitors find their ways in the city. Finally, I should be able to tell visitors about our history and culture and show them their great achievements. In a short, I will do my best to help making the Games a successful.
For the final speaker here today, I would like to share you some of the conclusions of our research．We wanted to know that the Internet would become the most popular source of news for people．They have found that although the Internet has become increasing popular, the number of people which get news from the Internet compares to the radio or television is still small．While the Internet is a popular tool, it is still not as easily accessible with newspapers, television and the radio is, and due to the amount of uncontrolled information on the Internet, people do not always trust the news they find it online．
I went to see film after supper. On my way to the cinema, I met an old English woman, she had lost her way. I gave up the chance to see the film, walking towards her and took her to her hotel. While go there, I told her great change had taken place in the past few years and she told me anything about Britain and her family. Though I missed the film, however I felt very happy, for I not only helped the old lady out from trouble but also practise my spoken English, If I hadn’t worked hard at English, I would have been able to help her.
I still remember the morning. My father suddenly wake me up at about 5 and the sky was still gray. I jumped out bed surprised and extreme happy, for we were going to get a book! When we drove to the bookstore, many people were already waiting there. We waited for our turn at about 8:30. I was overjoyed when I got a book, not only because of the book themselves, but also of the love from my father. Never before had I felt such a love from him, because of my father, I believed then, had always been busy with his own work. That was “Harry Potter” that helped I feel the deep love from my parents!
