As soon as you land at London Heathrow airport, you will see it is easy for you to ride the subway or take a bus to your hotel. However, if you are planning on touring London, it would be the best idea for you to rent a car so that you can go wherever you wish to visit freely and you don’t have to run to catch a bus or a train. Remember that the trains in London are always very crowded. So a rental car is the easiest and most comfortable way to travel.
London has so many different attractions(旅游景点) to offer and the same is true for England itself. In London you can find Buckingham Palace, which you can also visit during summer time when the Queen of England goes to one of the castles(城堡)around the country. If you are interested in history and art, you can’t miss the National Gallery, which is right in front of Trafalgar Square. Not far from Trafalgar Square, there is the House of Parliament that faces the Thames River. If you wish to have a good view of London, then the best idea would be to take a ride on the London Eye, the tallest Ferris wheel(摩天轮)of Europe. The tour takes about half an hour so you can sit comfortably and take pictures of London from above.
London is not too far from other major cities and attractions in England. For example, a drive of only one hour and a half will take you to Cambridge and with even less time than that you can reach Stonehenge to see the stones that have been there for centuries.
According to the passage, the best way for you to tour London is ______________.

A.to take the subway B.to take buses

If you wish to take pictures of London from above, you’d better ______________.

Everybody has heard of fast food, but have you ever eaten slow food?Well, you might just want

Karen:I’m very excited because I start to run my own business—a new snack bar called Good Food. It is special because we only have slow food. What is slow food? Mark: I’m a farmer from California. I grow food in a special way—a way that is better for the environment. I sell a lot of my food to the restaurants and snack bars in the city. And I also visit schools a lot and try to teach children about food, for some kids think that fast food is the only food.
Joshua: I had the best lunch with my friend Susi in the slow food snack bar last Thursday, I had the great tomato and cheese salad—much better than a pizza and a Coke. It was a winter morning, just a couple of weeks before Christmas. While most people were warming up their cars, Trevor, my husband, had to get up early to ride his bike four kilometers away from home to work.On arrival, he parked his bike outside the back door as he usually does. After putting in 10 hours of work, he returned to find his bike gone.
The bike,a black 18-speed Kona, was our only transport.Trevor used it to get to work, putting in 60-hour weeks to support his young family. And the bike was also used to get everyday things, saving us from having to walk long distances from where we live.
I was so sad that someone would steal our bike that I wrote to the newspaper and told them our story.Shortly after that, several people in our area offered to help. One stranger even bought a bike, then called my husband to pick it up.Once again my husband had a way to get to and from his job. It really is an honor that a stranger would help someone they have never met before.
People say that a smile can be passed from one person to another, but acts of kindness from strangers are even more so.This experience has had a spreading influence in our lives because it strengthened our faith in humanity(人性的信念) as a whole.
