Time flies! This is a third year that I have been in this school. In the past two and a half years, our school had organized many activities. What impressed me best was an activity called “Learning to Farm”. In an autumn afternoon, we were sent to a farm which we learned to plant potatoes. Having been in the city for so a long time, we were so happy to go to the countryside. After divided into three groups, we started to work. Some students cut potatoes into pieces; some dug holes, and the others put the pieces of potatoes into the hole, put the earth back and pushed them down hard. We continued doing that until all the work was done. Although we were exhausted, but we felt fulfilled on our way back home.

Although nobody wishes to experience failure, but failure plays an important role on the way to success. Sometimes it can benefit us a lot. When I fail my English exam last time, I felt upset at first, but then I made up my mind work even harder. That failure encouraged me to put more times and energy into learning English. Beside, I found it was my small vocabulary and poor grammar which led to failure. So I changed my learning methods. Finally, I made a great progress in English. Most important, now I have a correct attitude towards failure. It really helped myself to get closer to succeed.

During the summer holiday, I helped my parents did a lot of housework, like cooking, washing and clean the house. At first, I didn’t know what to do these things, but thanks to my mother, I learned a lot of. At the end of each day, when my parents came home after a day’s hard works, they could see clean house and enjoy the dishes I cooked for them. The smile on their face were the best award for my efforts. I felt very happy though exhausting. Helping my parents was challenging and very rewarding. It made my holiday much meaningful.

During the vacation, the weather was hot and I could do much work, but I lived happily. On the morning I usually got up early and take a walk in the garden. I went swim in the river and didn’t come back when it was about five or six. Sometimes a friend of me would come to see me and we would spend some hours listened to music. In this way I spent my vacation happily. I not only studied well and but also became a good swimmer.

On my way to the bookstore, I noticed a group of people surrounded two anxious foreigners. I stopped and found that they were tourist from Canada who careless left a very important wallet in a taxi. I accompanied them to the nearest police station and without their help, we got in touch with the taxi company. We told a moment ago a driver had just turned in a wallet and then a policeman drive us to the company without delay. The two Canadians happily claimed their wallet, that contained their passports, flight tickets, some cash or credit cards. They expressed our thanks to me. I feel it is really a great pleasure to help the others.

Last weekend we went mountain-climbing．Even the heavy rain in the morning could not prevent us go. Setting off very early, we went along an extreme narrow road, all in high spirits. On every side of the road were green fields and some farm house．We could hear the sound of the rain and our footsteps mixing with our laughter．At noon we reached top of the mountain．That surprised us most was the beauty of the scenes there．After having a short rest and sharing with the food we had brought, we started going down．It rained even harder．We are wet to the skin, and we still sang and laughed happily．
