There’s a big zoo in our city. It’s about five kilometres away from my house. I like all kinds of animals. I often go to the zoo by bus on Sundays. In the zoo, I can see many different kinds of animals, such as monkeys, bears, pandas, tigers, lions and dolphins. Some animals are friendly, but some are not. Tigers, lions and bears are dangerous, so they have to stay in cages. But I don’t think it’s good for animals to stay in cages. They are not happy. They should be free.
Tigers and lions usually live in forests. They can run very fast there. They catch and eat small animals like deer and rabbits. But now in the zoo, they live in small rooms. They walk round and round (徘徊) in the cages, and they want to get out. I feel sorry for them.
Of all the animals I like dolphins best. The most interesting animals in the zoo that I like are dolphins. I like watching them swim and jump. They swim fast and they jump very high. They are very clever. They can play with balls. They are very friendly to people. If you fall into the water and can’t swim, they may come to help you.How does the author (作者) usually go to the zoo?

The holiday’s upon us.After months of study, you have some time to yourself. So, why not read a book? Well, some people will say, “Why trouble with books? We have the Internet and other media (媒体) that offer a lot more colorful programs.Books are history!”
But don’t be fooled. There’s still a lot to be said for reading-and reading as widely as possible.
(1) One clear reason is that a well-chosen ______ is a wonderful collection of ______ and expressions, so long as you have a good dictionary, of course.Believe me, it’s far easier to get new English words and expressions from a book or article than it is from the TV or the Internet.
(2) But an even more important point is that books give you something that modern media simply cannot. The webpage(网页)is always full of pictures and the text is often designed to make it as easy to read as possible.
Though “easy” may be welcome, unluckily it’s of little use for any long-time development of reading skills and the general language level. For that, there’s still no substitute(替代品)for a book.
But perhaps the best single reason is that simply choosing what you read and doing it by yourself means that it’s something you do by and for yourself. You can choose what you want to read. It’s hard work, but while you are reading, you’ll find that what once seemed like a duty is now a pleasure.Reading can bring us pleasure.在(1)句空白处填入适当的词:___________ ___________

As the sun rose, a dewdrop (露珠)woke up. There it sat on a leaf, catching the sunlight. Proud of its simple beauty, it was very happy. Around it were other dewdrops, some on the same leaf and some on other leaves. The dewdrop was sure that it was the best, the most special dewdrop of them all.
Ah, it was good to be a dewdrop.
The wind blew and the plant began to shake, tipping (使倾斜) the leaf. The dewdrop became frightened as it started to move towards the edge (边缘)of the leaf. Why was this happening? Things were comfortable. Things were safe. Why did they have to change? Why? Why?
The dewdrop reached the edge of the leaf. It was sure that this was the end. The day had only just begun and the end had come so quickly. It seemed so unfair. It seemed so meaningless. It tried hard to do whatever it could to stay on the leaf, but it was no use.
Finally, it fell. Below there was a mirror. A reflection of the dewdrop seemed to be coming up to meet it. Closer and closer they came together until finally.., the small dewdrop became a part of the great pond (池塘). Now the dewdrop was no more, but it was not destroyed.
It had become one with the whole.According to Paragraph 1, we know that the dewdrop _____.
A.didn’t get on well with other dewdrops |

C.couldn’t get any sunlight |
D.thought itself as the best dewdrop |

B.The dewdrop did nothing before falling. |
C.The mirror in the story refers to the pond. |
D.The dewdrop was actually destroyed. |
