Choosing to Study Overseas
Every year, thousands of students choose to study in another country for a semester, the summer, or a year. Studying overseas can be an exciting experience for many people.
Living in another country can help you to learn a language, and about another culture.   
Overseas study may also look good on your future resume. Many companies today want employees who speak a second language, or have experienced living or working in another country.
Making the right choice
Once you decide to study overseas, you have to make some choices. To choose the right country or school. Ask yourself: Where do I want to go and why? How much do I want to pay?     Do I want to live with a host family, with roommates, or alone?
Getting ready to go
Get your passport and visa early!     Learn about the money. Bring some of it, and a credit card, with you.
Once you are there
After the first few weeks overseas, many students will feel a little homesick. They may miss their family, friends, and familiar ways of doing things.      When you feel sad or homesick, try to talk to others, or write about your feelings in a notebook.

Exercise regularly. Exercise can help you look good and feel good about yourself. Good physiques (体形) don’t just happen. . A healthy habit can be as simple as exercising 20 minutes to one hour three days a week. Working out can also lift your spirits.
Respect your body! Practicing good habits --- regular showering; taking care of your teeth, hair, and skin; wearing clean clothes, and so on --- can help you build a positive body image.
. Your body is just one part of who you are. Your talent for comedy, a quick wit (智慧), and all the other things make you unique. So try not to let small imperfections take over.

(2) Don’t take it out on yourself. Sometimes when kids are stressed and upset they take it out on themselves. Oh, dear, that’s not a good idea. Remember that there are always people to help you. Don’t take it out on yourself.
(3) Try to solve the problem. After you’re calm and you have support from adults and friends, it’s time to get down to business. Even if you can’t solve it all, you can solve a piece of it.
(4) Be positive. Most stress is temporary (暂时的). Remember stress does go away, especially when you figure out the problem and start working on solving it.
These steps aren’t magic, but they do work. And if you can stay positive as you make
your way through a tough time, you’ll help yourself feel better even faster.

Expect to work. School is not a holiday camp. If you are not working, you are wasting your time at school, Teachers cannot make everything enjoyable.
Keep fit. If you do not eat a good breakfast, you will be thinking about food in class. If you go to bed late and do not have enough sleep, you will be sleepy in class,
Never put off till tomorrow what you can do today. If you get behind the class, it is very difficult to get back in front. You cannot finish a race if you rest all the time.
Everyone will fail in some tests, lose some matches and have bad days. Don't make small problems seem very big and important.
Set study targets.Try to make progress bit by bit. Think of small targets: "I will speak in class four times this week." or "I will get two more marks this week."
