There’s always been a debate on whether human beings are born good or bad.Depending on how you view the world, you can think of all the crimes and injustice and conclude that we’re bad,so we need a system of laws to keep us in check. However, there are also a lot of stories of good deeds.I think we’re all born good.
Today,I took a trip to South Bend to attend my friends’ wedding reception.I had____the night before at the forecast and it said we were going to get about 3 inches of snow,so I thought,“That’s not so____”I set out on my journey and it was completely clear until I____to get towards Niles,M1...
I was____with this ominous (不祥的) cloud,I thought to myself,“Hmm,this can’t be a good____.” Soon enough, the highway became a snowpacked wall of white.I should have remembered that such severe changes in____are common in this part of America.I then tried to get to the populous area of South Bend and got____in the snow,____to turn left onto a street,I____for 20 minutes to dig myself out with only a scraper (刮刀).
It wasn’t a very____street,so I didn’t see many people.Just as I was starting to give up,a few people stopped by my car and then helped push me out of the snow bank.It was one person at first, and then a few others.
Then,on the way to my destination, another lady got stuck.____,I got out and was____to offer the same help that I had received. At least five others joined me in my____to get her car unstuck. It is kind of storm that makes roads undrivable.South Bend____up getting over 3 feet of snow.
In these____of kindness though,I was once again____of my belief that all people are born good. These people didn’t have to stop and help me out. They ran the____of having their own cars stuck.Even for myself,it was a(an)____reaction to get out and push the lady’s car out too.I didn’t think about it____a second.
I believe these situations really helped remind me that this world is a good place.Real life situations can____good deeds. It happened today, and it will happen again and again.

Michelle looks after her children pretty much like the rest of us, 38 that she doesn’t push too hard on them, 39 really benefit a lot from her relaxed attitude. She knows when to clean the house, she moves around so fast that often 40 don’t realize she’s blind.
I 41 this the first time after my six-year-old daughter, Kayla, went to play there. When Kayla came home, she was very 42 about her day. She told me they had baked cookies, played games and done art projects. But she was43 excited about her finger-painting project."Mom, guess what?" said Kayla, all smiles. "I learned how to 44 colors today! Blue and red make purple, and yellow and blue make green! And Michelle 45 with us.
To my great 46 , my child had learnt about color from a blind friend! Then Kayla continued, "Michelle told me my47 showed joy, pride and a sense of accomplishment. She really 48 what I was doing!" Kayla said she had never felt how good finger paints felt 49 Michelle showed her how to paint without looking at her paper.
I realized Kayla didn’t know that Michelle was blind. It had just never 50 in conversation. When I told her, she was51 for a moment. At first, she didn’t believe me. "But Mommy, Michelle knew exactly what was in my picture!" Kayla 52 . And I knew my child was 53 because Michelle had listened to Kayla describe her artwork. Michelle had also heard Kayla’s 54in her work.
We were silent for a minute. Then Kayla said slowly, "You know, Mommy, Michelle really did ‘see’ my picture. She just used my55 ." Indeed, she uses a special type of “vision” that all mothers have.

I’ve always had strong opinions of how love should be expressed, but others had their own ways of showing care.
What I 36 most about visiting my boyfriend’s parents is the loud tick of the clock in the dining room as we 37 ate our meal. With so little conversation I was quick to 38 his family as cold. When we got into the 39 to go home, his father suddenly appeared. 40 , he began to wash his son’s windscreen. I could feel he was a caring man through the glass.
I learned another lesson about love a few years later. My father often 41 me early in the morning. “Buy Xerox. It’s a good sharp price,” he might say when I answered the phone. No pleasant 42 or inquiry about my life, just financial instructions. This manner of his 43 me and we often quarreled. But one day, I thought about my father’s success in business and realized that his concern for my financial security lay behind his 44 morning calls. The next time he called and told me to buy a stock, I 45 him.
When my social style has conflicted with that of my friends, I’ve often felt 46 . For example, I always return phone calls47 and regularly contact with my friends. I expect the same from them. I had one friend who rarely called, answering my messages with short e-mails. I rushed to the48 : She wasn’t a good friend! My anger49 as the holidays approached. But then she came to a gathering I50 and handed me a beautiful dress I had fallen in love with when we did some window-shopping the previous month. I was51 at her thoughtfulness, and regretful for how I’d considered her to be52 . Clearly I needed to change my expectations of friends.
Far too often, I ignored their53 expressions, eagerly expecting them to do things in my54 . Over the years, however, I’ve learned to55 other persons, love signs.

Many years ago, I owned a service station and roadhouse on the main road between Melbourne and Adelaide.
One very cold, wet night at about 3:30 a.m., there was a36 on the front door of our house. A young man, wet from37 to toe, explained that he had38 out of petrol about 30 km up the road. He had left his pregnant wife and his two children 39 at the car and said that he would hitchhike(搭便车) back.
Once I had40 a can with petrol, I took him back to his car where his two-year-old and four-year-old children were both41 , saying that they were cold. Once the car had started, I suggested that he 42 me back.
Before leaving, I had turned the heater43 in the roadhouse, so that when we went in, it was nice and44 .While the little ones played and ran45 ,I prepared bread and butter for the children, and hot chocolate for the46 .
It was about 5 a.m. before they47 .The young fellow asked me how much he 48 me and I told him that the petrol pump had49 $15.He offered to pay “call-out fee”, but I wouldn’t accept it.
About a month later, I received a50 from Interstate, a large bus company that we had been trying to51 to stop off at our roadhouse for a long time. It 52 out that the young fellow I had helped was its general manager, the most53 person in the company.
In his letter, he thanked me again and54 me that, from then on, all their buses would stop at my service station. In this55 ,a little bit of kindness was rewarded with a huge amount of benefits.
