Read English newspapers is my favorite activity. When I entered into high school, I began to enjoy doing such work. With the teacher’s help, I realize that reading English articles are of great important. It’s a good way to improve my English. I’ve learned more new words and expression by doing so. I also get many information, including news about China and the world outside. It opens my eyes widely. Which I love most is the section about TV programs in the coming week. I dislike reading long articles there are many new word. I will work hard to keep on as if it’s a particularly hard task for me.

The main purpose of newspapers are to provide news. If you examine newspapers closely, you would find there are all sort of news: accidents, floods, fires, wars, sports, books, etc. The news cover everything that happens to people and its surroundings. Sometimes there is some news which is very interested. A news report is usual short, except when it is very important, but has a plenty of information. It is also written in shorter paragraphs. The first paragraph is in fact a summary of news. It gives all the necessary information, what, when, where, how, and why.

Recently, some college students are busy finding variety of methods to make money during their free time. Some people believed that it is great. In such a competitive society, experience is becoming very more and more important. Doing part-time jobs are a good way to get experience. And it also helps to reducing parents’ financial stress. Others, therefore, argue that students’ duty is nothing but study. On the one hand, part-time jobs may have a negative effect in their studies. On the other hand, students may do something wrong because they are so young to tell good from bad. In my opinion, as soon as they arrange their time reasonably, we are sure to get good grades and work experience.

In recent years many flowers shops have been appeared in our small town. It is common for people to buy flowers when they go to a gathering, visiting a sick friend, or attend a wedding or birthday party. I still remember clear one day last year when Tom, a disabled student, presented some flowers to his mother to express his gratitude for her. He owing his entire life to his mother’s kind and care. Today we are having a farewell party honor our friend Peter. He is going back to my homeland before the New Year. In the past year Peter and all of us have been on well terms. Also, we have helped each other and become good friend. Thank you Peter for be a part of this class! We have a better atmosphere of English learning or we have become more interested in English and made a great progress. We really appreciated your help.
