My father died when I was 5. It was hard on us all. My brother is 8 years older than me, he began to look after my mother and me.
My mother had to do a full-time job. My brother would get me up for school, and cook breakfast for me .When I was eating he would get my clothes and school bags ready and make my bed. People often ask what the weather is like in Australia. The answer is that it changes a lot! Why? Because Australia is such a large country, weather in different parts is different in the country.
The northern parts of Australia are warm to hot all year round because it is closer to the equator (赤道). In the north, summer is also the rainy season.
The areas along the coast around Sydney are warm in winter with the lowest temperatures about 50 to 60°F. Summer there is warmer and the temperature is about 80°F.
However, if you think all parts of the country are warm all year round, you’ll be wrong. Some parts in Australia are very cold during the winter.
