Recently our class have had a discussion about if it is necessary for middle school students read English classics. Different students have different opinion. 80% of the students think it necessary to read English classics. By reading classics you can enlarge our vocabulary and improve our reading skills. When I was an elementary school student aging ten, I took part in a singing competition in our city. It was my first time to be in a singing competition. In the day of the competition, I was asked to enter into a studio room, which there was only one person and a piano. The man asked me sing in front of the microphone, following his piano playing. Rose wanted a job. She went to many offices and she didn’t like any of them. One day she saw a board in an office read: “This office needs a typist whom can type 200 words a minute.” Rose was exciting. She then went to the manager’s office. Rose knocked at the door and the manager raised her head. “Do you need a typist?” asked Rose. “Yes!” he said. Rose clapped(拍) her hand and asked, “OK! In modern society, competition is everywhere. No wonder a English philosopher considers competition the source of a series of problem such as frustration and anxiety. Therefore, if we stress cooperation too much, there would be no progress. In my opinion, all are important and necessary.
Let's take the competition at school for example. Even a gifted student won't make a remarkable progress if he is in a class without competition. That's because competition, and rather, challenge is a driving force made him go forward. On the other hand, if we don't cooperate with each other, it's impossible for us learn from each other. And that's why most of the great discoveries or inventions in the modern world are the result of cooperation.
To conclude, those who laugh last are the people who can successful cope with the relationship between competition and cooperation.

In my hometown there used to have a temple with a historyof over eight hundred years．It lies in a valley with green hillsaround it．It was such beautiful and famous that manytourists came to visit to it every day．They tookphoto; they wrote down their names on the walls;they brought foods, drinks and left rubbish everywhere．One day some tourists burnt a fire to cook food near the temple.All of a sudden, strong wind blew．The wooden temple was caught fire．Soon the whole temple was burned outbut only a few walls remained．The beautiful temple disappeared．
