Last week I went to visit to my former neighbor, Mr. Yang. He and I used to living next to each other for many years. About half a year ago, an order came which the old building , along with many other similar ones, were going to be pulled down to make room for a main street.
So I had to move apart. Mr. Yang now lives in the suburb near a beautiful park. His new apartment is much big than before. The only problem is that it took quite a long time to get to the downtown area. Therefore, Mr. Yang doesn’t seem to worry about the long distance. He says that new subway line is to be built in a few year and he is sure life will be better in the future.
In autumn of 1935, when I was a young man, I was traveling in the north of Indian. One evening, before hunting in the forest all day, I was returning to the place which I had put up my tent. It was getting dark, but I was walking along a road. Suddenly I saw two eye glaring at me from among the trees. How could I do? Should I jump into the river to save my life? Then I look to the right. In the river there had a big crocodile waiting to welcome me with its mouth was wide opening.

It is real a good chance to have met all of you here. We have spent several precious weekend in learning in the English Club. Although we have been members for a short period of times, we have made a great progress. That is because we are all very much active and the activities are not only enjoyable and also helpful. Besides, the foreign teachers here work hard and try his best to make the activities lively and interested. I am very pleased to say that all of us greatly improved our spoken English so far. I am looking forward to see all of you again in the near future!

John is my best friend. However, he sometime makes me angry. For example, last Monday while we were taking test on history, he threw me a note, hoping that I could give him the answers of the questions on the papers. How could I help my best friend to cheating in a test? It was certainly that I refused his request, that made him quite unhappy at the time. After school, when I was asked him to go home with me, he didn’t look at me and said anything. Then he went away. The next day I had to write him a letter to explain that I didn’t tell him the answers. He makes an apology to me after he realized that he was wrong.
My friend Henry, with him I studied in the same class, didn’t like studying at school. That’s because he couldn’t go to high school. He had to return back to his hometown, where his father wished him to learn to manage our small shop. However, the young man was not interesting in it and didn’t do as his father said. He spends a lot of time reading and learned how to repair cars. Last month, I accepted an e-mail from him inviting me take my vacation in his hometown. I started off. Seeing that he was such successful, I said, “Henry, all road lead to Rome. You are great!”

The day before yesterday, my classmates and me went to the park near my school. Can you guess that what we did there? Not for amusement but to participate in a volunteer labour. They reached the park on nine o'clock. The whole class divided into three groups. Group One planted trees and watered flowers. Group Two was told to pick up litter(垃圾) leaving by the tourists and cleaned all the benches. Group Three wiped all the equipments on the Children's Playground. All of us worked hardly. Before noon we finished working. Each of us feel a little bit tired, so we were happy because we had done a good deed.
