Great changes have been taken place in my village. Ten years ago, the small and low houses, which lie on the north of a lake, produced much waste. As the result, the lake was serious polluted. To the west was a sandy field, that was the source of dust. Better still, a brickyard on the southwest side of the lake used up a great deal good soil. Now the poor house have been replaced by green trees and the brickyard by tall buildings. The sandy field that the villagers used to ploughing has been covered with fruit trees. On the lake the villagers often spend his spare time boating and fishing.

Since my childhood, libraries had played an important role in my life. When I was a pupil, I regarded on my every trip to the school library as an adventure. I enjoyed my stay at the library when I could read various book I was interested in. It was for this reason why I decided to volunteer at a library. At first I had difficulty remember where each book should be shelved, and I got used to doing so soon with the help of a kind librarian. Working in the library might seem bored for most people. However, it was rewarding experience for me. It not only developed my ability to read, but also help me make a contribution to society.

Time flies! This is a third year that I have been in this school. In the past two and a half years, our school had organized many activities. What impressed me best was an activity called “Learning to Farm”. In an autumn afternoon, we were sent to a farm which we learned to plant potatoes. Having been in the city for so a long time, we were so happy to go to the countryside. After divided into 3 groups, we started to work. Some students cut potatoes into pieces; some dug holes, and the others put the pieces into the hole, put the earth back and pushed them down hard. We continued doing that until all the work was done. Although we were exhausted, but we felt fulfilled on our way back home.
