Dear Dr. Know,
My brother is going to be 11and I am 14. My brother and I always get into fights. Whenever he does something wrong like hitting me, messing my room or taking my toys, he never gets in trouble. But when I do this kind of things, I'm always groundedand it's not fair.
I tried talking to my parents about this and all they said was that they would try harder. However since they said this it has never happened. I don't know what to do. I sometimes just try to get on the computer and there he goes. He starts saying he wants to use the computer even though we have 3computers in the house. But all that my dad says is to get off only for 30minutes. I keep telling him that he can use the computer downstairs but he complains( 抱怨) that he is too scared.
I've talked to my friends about this and they don't know what to say. I've tried talking to him and being nice to him but it didn't work. He just doesn't stop. He's making my life terrible! My dream is to have an understanding brother. What should I do for that?
Help me please!
Kelsey

She lives in a poor village called Zhangjiashu in Tongxin, Ningxia, and she has no money to go to school. However, she is brave and wants to go to school very much.
Her mother gave her diary to a reporter, Pierre Haski when he went to Zhangjiashu in 2001. Now, Ma Yan’s diary has been published in France, Italy, Germany, Japan and China.
Ma Yan is now a Junior Three student at Yuwang Middle School in Tongxin. Before this, she had to drop out of school twice. With this money, she went back to school. The second time, her family told her she had to leave school while her two brothers could stay.
“I want to study,” Ma Yan wrote in her diary. “Why can boys study but girls can’t? It would be wonderful if I could stay at school forever.”

Here is how to leave the supermarket with the things you wanted to buy and nothing more.
Suggestion 1: Pick up a basket. You’ll head straight for the checkout (收款台) when it starts to get heavy. Don’t use the trolleys (购物车) because they will make you put in extra things. |
Suggestion 2: Make a list and stick to(坚持) it. Supermarkets usually place things we use every day far away, such as bread and milk. So you have to walk along the aisles (过道) in between, buying things you don’t really need on the way. |
Suggestion 3: Keep away from BOGOFs (Buy One Get One Free offers). Just how many watermelons can you eat in a week? Fruit and vegetables usually work out cheaper. |
Suggestion 4: Look up and down. The most expensive things are placed in the middle. For cheaper things, check the higher and the lower places. |

About ten men in every hundred have the trouble of color blindness in some way. Women are luckier, only about one in two hundred is affected(感染)in this matter. Perhaps, after all ,it is safer to be driven by a woman.
There are different kinds of color blindness. For example, a man cannot see deep red. He may think that red, orange and yellow are all shades (影子) of green. Sometimes a person can’t tell the difference between blue and green. Only a few unlucky men may see everything in shades of green— a strange world indeed.
Color blindness in human beings is a different thing to explain. In only one eye there are millions of very small things called “cones(锥状细胞)” . These help us to see in the bright light and to tell differences between colors. These are also millions of “rods“(杆状细胞),but these are used for seeing when it is nearly dark. They show us shapes but not colors.
Some insects have favorite colors. Mosquitoes(蚊子) like blue but do not like yellow. A red light will not attract insects, but a blue light will. Human beings also have favorite colors. Yet we are lucky. With the help of the cones in our eyes, we can see many beautiful colors by day, and with the help of the rods we can see shapes at night.“Color blindness” means in Chinese.
