Humans can go to the hospital when they're ill.But as for animals, what should they do?To stay healthy, animals have their own ways to heal(治愈)themselves. Now let's get to know their special skills.
Skill One
Have you ever seen your dog or cat lick(舔)its wounds? Why do they do it?It probably feels good, but it's good medicine.Licking cleans a wound, and saliva(唾液)has chemicals that kill germs(细菌).
Skill Two
To avoid diseases, many animals have good living habits. They hate to be dirty. Most animals separate their pooping(lF1E)areas from their eating areas.Horses poop far away from the grass they eat.Rabbits put their poop in special pooping areas.
Skill Three
Have you ever heard of the expression "starve a fever(发烧时宜饿)"?Many animals stop eating when they're ill. When a sick animal stops eating,it can stop germs from getting necessary things.
Skill Four
Another way that animals heal themselves is to raise their body temperature.High temperature can kill germs.Warm﹣blooded animals(like us)get fevers to fight with germs.Cold﹣blooded animals(like snakes)look for pieces of wood or rocks heated by the sun.Fish move to warmer waters.

Do you ever find yourself getting really unhappy for almost no reason? Or suddenly feeling down without knowing why? But why is the feeling so common among teens?
Maybe you're starting a new school and not able to see old friends. Getting good grades or wanting to be better in sports or other activities can be a concern (关注)for many teens.

same degree, they are common.
● Talk to people you trust, Friends can help each other by realizing that they're not alone
in their feelings. Talking to parents is important, too. Parents can share their own
experiences dealing with bad moods. Teachers are often good resources and a doctor can
help to answer questions about development.
● Get enough sleep, Though it can be hard to find enough time, getting enough rest is very
important. Being tired can lead to more sadness.

Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation(APEC亚太经济合作组织) members met in Beijing from November 5 to 11 to discuss the future of APEC and the overall development of the Asia-Pacific area. APEC, which was set up(成立) in 1989,is a forum(论坛) for 21 member countries to develop free trade and economic cooperation throughout the Asia-Pacific area.
Though Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation came to a successful close, the "APEC Blue" has become popular in Beijing, even in China. A clear blue sky in Beijing is difficult to see during the smog(雾) season, so Beijingers gave it a name: "APEC Blue".
"Oh, how beautiful the autumn sky is and how fresh the air is!" This is how most Beijingers feel during APEC. "I hope the APEC Blue will remain, and I believe, through the efforts we continue to make, it will."
A lot of environmentally friendly ways were taken to reduce(减少) the Beijing smog during the APEC meeting, including limiting the number of cars on the road, stopping some factories in neighboring cities and so on.
Perhaps we can learn something from London, where the Great Smog killed 4,000 people :in four days in 1952. Britain then passed its first air pollution act, which required that all power plants in London should be shut down, factories must build taller chimneys, and the heating system must be improved.
In order to keep "APEC Blue", Beijing plans to build air corridors(通道) to blow away pollution. Not all agree with this way. Song Guojun, a professor(教授) of environmental studies(环境研究)at Renmin University, believes that this way will not solve the problem at its root, and only by controlling the source(源头) of pollution will Beijing see bluer skies.APEC has been set up foryears.

Betty and I are best friends. Our birthdays are on the same day, so every year we have a birthday party together. But this year, we had a costume party(化妆舞会) instead.
While we were writing the invitations, my mum came in and asked, "Why not invite John?" John had been in our class for only a few months, but he was already getting better grades in math than anyone else in class. I wrinkled(皱了皱) my nose, "Mum, he wears the same pants to school every day. How could he even afford a costume?" Mum said nothing. The next day, mum gave me an envelope with a shopping certificate(购物卷) in it. "I thought it would be nice for you to give this to John." Mum said. But how we didn't want to make John embarrassed. We discussed it for a long time. Finally, Betty and I had a good idea.
On the day of our party, kids arrived, dressed differently. John arrived, in an old sheet(床单), but still in the same brown pants as usual. We danced, ate snacks and played games in groups. Before eating the birthday cake, Betty said in a loud voice, ‘Now it's time for the great prize game. It's the following riddle.,." It was a math game. None of us was surprised when John came up with the right answer first and walked off with the envelope.
