As you know, in China, we call people bear between 1980 and 1989 the post-80s. I am a young guy who belonged to such a group. For our generation, life is getting more difficulty than the former generations. The job market is tough but the house is kind of expensive to afford. Now plenty of girls would prefer to marry man with a house and a car on his own. I don’t think love built on houses and cars are true love. Thus, this is social reality that we have to face.
Though situations are tough today, many of us post-80s are making many effort to live a good life. Do you think we will make up life better and better in the future?

Sometime in February, my teacher told us about the city speech contest, its topic was “People who have overcome difficulties in their lives”. I thought of my grandma would be my perfect topic. Then I carefully prepared for contest. A couple of weeks later, after the first round I was choosing to be one of the seven finalists! The final was held soon. I was the sixth to presenting the speech. How a relief when I finished it! After the last person finished, the judge made their final decisions and announced that I have won first prize. The audience were going wildly clapping and cheering! I was extremely happy. It was such exciting a moment that I will always remember it.

I feel it is pity that you didn’t want to take part in the speech contest. In my view, the speech contest can benefit from you in different ways. Firstly, it makes you look for more informations about your favorite scientists on the Internet or in the library, and learning more about them. Secondly, it is a challenge to prepare for a speech contest. You not only have to write a good article, and also have to perform them properly. What’s more, after the contest, you can find yourself with some newly good friends, or even a prize. I suggest you consider participating in the contest, that will really do good to you. It is likely for anyone to be misunderstood for some reason. I am no exception. One day after school, I got on my bike and start heading home. I was just about to get out of the traffic jam outside our school while a woman stopped me, claim that my bike had scratched his car. I felt confused because that I clearly remembered that I was trying to avoid touching her car just now. Therefore, she insisted on blaming me and gradually rose her voice. Mary Daniels is a student in England. This year she had a very interested
summer holiday. He travelled with fifteen others people to the Tuwenzori Mountains
in Africa. They went there to help make a road through a forest among two big towns.
“It was very difficult because of there was no water to drink and no shops that we
could buy food,” said Mary. “It was also very cold and wetter in the mountains. It is
one of the wettest place in the world.” Mary stays in the mountains for six weeks. It
was hard work, but she said it was best thing she had ever done. She is hoping to
return next year to do some more work there.

It is three years now since I graduate from Xinhua High School. Last Sunday, the class that I was on held a get-together, which took us a long time prepare. It was indeed not easy to get in touch with everybody and set a properly time for all of us. We all enjoyed a precious day greatly, remember the time we spent together. It reminded us of the interesting stories and the people they were familiar with. It was a pity which some of us were not present as they had gone to abroad for further studies, but they called back or sent greeting card from different places.
