Some students thought that they can learn English well if they remember the grammar rules and learn by hearts as many words as they can. And I don’t quite agree with them. Learning rules from a grammar book and remember long lists of words are not enough. We must learn by listening to, speaking, reading and writing. We should practice our spoken English both in and out class, and try to read and listen whenever possibly. This is also helpful to keep diaries and write letters or shortly stories in English. Only with this way can we learn English well.

Dear Mark,
It is pity you can’t go over the lessons with us. We will take the English finally exam next Thursday, which is also the last day of the exam week. This is different about the exam is that it consisted of two parts, answer three of the five questions and writing articles. We are supposing to go over our mid-term exam papers, textbooks and notes to prepare for it. The grade is made up of three part. The final exam will make up 55% of our final grade, the homework 20% and the mid- term 25%. Please feel free contact me unless you are still not clear about it. I was a high school student then, from low-income family. So I have to work to support my family. My first one job was to clean the tables in a small restaurant. Yesterday I went shopping with my wife. We have a lot of things to buy them. We drove to the center of the city and stopped their car in front of the shop. An hour late, we came back to the car. But it is strange that we couldn't open the door. So we asked policeman for help. He was glad to help us. A few minute later, he got the door open. Just then a man came up and shouted angrily. One day, I was walking along the street while a stranger stopped me and asked me the way to the new restaurant．I told him the route and direction carefully．As soon as I finish, the stranger thanked me a lot of and started off．However, to his surprise, he went at a wrong direction．Then I stopped the men at once and told him that he was wrong．Unexpected, he smiled and told me the truth which he didn't really want to ask the way．But instead he was just trying to know whether everyone knew exactly where the new restaurant, for he was the new owner of the restaurant．
