School was over and I was both mentally and physically tired. I sat at the very front of the bus because of my 16 to get home. Sitting at the front makes you 17 out like a shiny coin in a pile of dull pennies.
Janie, the driver, tries to break the 18 atmosphere by striking the match of 194 .
I try to mind my manners and 20 listen, but usually I am too busy thinking about my day. On this day, 21 , her conversation was worth listening to.
“My father's sick,” she said to no one in 22 . I could see the anxiety and fear in her eyes. With a sudden change of attitude and interest, I asked,“What's wrong with him?"
With her eyes wet and her voice tight from 23 the tears, she responded,“Heart trouble.”Her eyes lowered as she 24 . “I've already lost my mum, so I don't think I can stand losing him.”
I couldn't respond. I was 25 . My heart ached for her. I sat on the old, smelly seat thinking of the great 26 my own mother was thrown into when her father died. I saw how hard it was, 27 still is, for her. I wouldn't like anyone to go 28 that.
Suddenly I realized Janie wasn't only a bus driver. That was 29 her job. She had a whole world of family and concerns too. I had never thought of her as 30 but a driver.
I suddenly felt very 31 . I realized I had only thought of people as 32 as what their purposes were in my life. I paid no attention to Janie because she was a bus driver. I had judged her by her job and brushed her off as 33 .
For all I know, I'm just another person in 34 else's world, and may not even be important. I 35 not have been so selfish and self-centered. Everyone has places to go, people to see and appointments (约会) to keep. Understanding people is an art.

Dear Dr Fang,
How are you? I am writing to ask for some 36about how to help my 15-year-old son. At the moment, he refuses to do almost anything his mother and I ask him to do. He is our only child and we treat him very 37. Though his grandparents buy him many things, yet he is still 38to them and often shouts at them. He also 39to spend time with us or do as we tell him.
Recently, he has been refusing to do his homework, and instead insists on 40his time listening to foreign music. I cannot understand that 41, and I don’t like it. Meanwhile, he spends too much time in Internet cafes, where he either plays games 42chats on the Internet. He is wasting valuable time during this 43period in his life!
What shall I do? I am worried about it. 44I keep allowing him to do what he wants, he may fail at school, or worse. How can I help my son 45hurting our feelings?
Best regards

English was always my favorite subject. In my freshman year of high school, I could write a killer composition. In my junior year, my 1 allowed me to give spelling tests to the class. I had wonderful 2 of this year. Mrs. Alexander 3 me to sit at her desk and take over the class when she had to leave the room. Only my senior English class was 4 , as we had a teacher right out of college who expected college-level work. Every student received a “C” or “D” grade the first quarter. 5 English was still my subject.
I graduated from high school, 6 early and had children. 7 about my English, I often helped my kids with their English homework. And I 8 long articles and beautiful poetry for a newspaper. Fifteen years later, I went to college, and because I had been an “A” student, I 9 an “A” student. I lived up to my own expectations.
Yesterday, I 10 my high school report cards when I was reading old papers. That bundle (捆) of report cards 11 back the old days. I remembered sitting in my advisor’s office, explaining that I had always been excellent at English and complaining that I did not 12 a “D” from that inexperienced teacher of my senior year. The advisor was 13 but unable to change a grade.
My old 14 cards showed something else too. I wanted to tear them up or 15 them. I was not an “A” student in high school English! Somehow, I had convinced myself of this, when the grades clearly reflected an 16 student with an occasional “A” or “B”, but mostly “C”s.
Had I lived up to those 17 and define (定义) myself according to those letters, I would have never confidently 18 my writing career. Had I believed in my early grades instead of myself, I would have allowed my fear of 19 to defeat my enthusiasm and damage my creativity. 20 , I regarded my younger self as an “A” English student, except for that undeserved “D”.

Once upon a time a washer man(洗衣工) had two donkeys(毛驴). Let’s say Donkey-A and Donkey-B.
Donkey –A felt it was very 36 and could do better than the other. It always tried to 37 more load(担子) and walk fast in front of the washer man.
Innocent(无辜的) Donkey-B was 38, so it would walk normally, regardless of(不管/不顾) the washer man’s preference. 39 a period of time, the washer man started urging Donkey-B to be like Donkey-A.
Donkey-B, unable to walk fast, got continuous 40 from the washer man. It cried and said personally to Donkey-A, “Dear friend, only we two are here, why do we have to 41 with each other? We can carry 42 load at normal speed.
That made Donkey-A more energetic(精力充沛的)and it told the washer man that it could carry more load and 43 faster. The washer man started 44 Donkey-B to make it run faster. During the following days, Donkey-A carried more load and started running even faster.
But it was hard for Donkey-B to 45 that way. The washer man was disappointed, 46 he punished Donkey-B terribly, and finally it fell down 47.
Then the load of Donkey-B was also being 48 by Donkey-A, and still it had to run fast. Finally due to great tiredness it got tired and started feeling the 49.
But the washer man 50 more from Donkey-A. It tried its best, but couldn’t 51 his owner’s expectations. The washer man got angry with Donkey-A and started 52 it to take more load. But it couldn’t come to the owner’s 53. Finally the day came when due to disappointment the washer man killed Donkey-A and began 54 some other donkeys.
