In 1929, three years after his flight over the North Pole, the American explorer, R.E. Byrd, successful flew over the South Pole for the first time. Therefore, at first, Byrd and his men were able to take great many photographs of the mountains that laid below, they soon ran into serious troubles. At one point, it seemed sure that their plane would crash. It could only get over the mountains if it raised to 10,000 feet. Byrd at once ordered his men to throw away two heavy food sacks. The plane was then able to rise and it cleared the mountains by 400 feet. Byrd then knew that he would be able to reach the South Pole which was 300 miles away, for there was no more mountains at sight. The aircraft was able to fly over the endless white plains without difficult.

Climb the mountains was hard work but as we looked around us, we were surprising by the view. We seemed be able to see for miles. At one point we were so high that we found ourselves cycling over clouds. Then we began going down the hills. It was a great fun specially as it gradually became more warmer. In the valleys colorful butterflies flowed around us and we saw many yaks and sheep eaten green grass. At this point we had to change our caps, coats, gloves and trousers with T-shirts and shorts.

There’s an old man in our village calling Old Joe who said to be 110 years old. This can’t
be proved though he doesn’t have a birth certificate. All his personal papers were destroy
during the World War Ⅱ.I don’t know if he really is so old, and it doesn’t matter. He certainly

A British woman was caught on camera dumped a cat into a rubbish bin. Mary Bale, the 45-year-old bank worker, is now accused of causing unnecessary suffering to the animal, as well as failing to provide for the cat with a suitable environment. Bale will appear before magistrates（地方官员）in Coventry, central England, in October 19, 2010 to answer the charges. Both offence can carry a prison sentence and a lifetime ban from keeping animals. They found out that happened after checking footage from a camera she had installed at their house. The video was then posted on the video sharing site YouTube but a campaign was launched with some contributors making death threats against Bale.

“Growing pains” is my favorite American TV play because it is very interested. The play tells humorous stories happen in Green’s family. With such stories it make people think about life, but therefore attracts the audience. It is also a window which we can learn about American society. And there were many meaningful things that are worth think of, such as the relationship between parents and children in many American family. It is quite different from those in China. The play is very popular. We’d better not missing the chance to enjoy it.
