A new plan for getting children to and from school is being started by a local government in Eastern England. This could end many parents’ worries fearful for their children’s safety on the roads.
Until now the local government have only been prepared to provide bus services for children living more than three miles from their school, or sometimes less if special reasons existed. Now it has been decided that if a group of parents ask for help in organizing transport they will be prepared to go ahead, as long as the arrangement will not lose money and children taking part will attend their nearest school.
The new plan is to be fired out this term for children living at Milton who attend Impington School. The children live just within the three-mile limit and the local government said in the past that they would not undertake to provide free transport to the school . But now they have agreed to offer a sum of money for a bus service from Milton to Impington and back, a plan which has the support of the school’s headmaster. Between 50 and 60% parents have said they would like their children to take part . Final calculations have still to be carried out, but a government official has said the cost to parents should be less than £20 a term. They have been able to arrange the service at a low cost because there is already an agreement with the bus company for a bus to take children who live further away to  Impington . The same bus would now just make one more journey to pick up the Milton children. The official said they would get in touch with other groups of parents who in had asked if transport could be provided for their children to see if they would like to take part in the new plan.
What is the aim(目的) of the plan?

A.To prevent the students’ road accidents
B.To relieve the traffic pressure
C.To save time for the parents and students
D.To help the parents save money

A.By letting the bus run in the morning only.
B.By limiting the number of the students
C.By getting the support from the headmaster
D.By linking the new bus service with the existing one

Which of the following is possible if the plan is carried out?

A.The bus company will make much more money
B.The children can choose whatever school they like
C.The parents can get rid of their worries
D.The students in Impington School can have free bus rides

There are many wetlands in China and some of them have become the world’s important wetlands. The Chinese Yellow Sea Wetlands are among them. They are in Yancheng, Jiangsu Province. They are home for many different kinds of animals. The world’s largest Milu Deer Nature Reserve is in them. More than 700 Milu deer live freely there. There are not many red-crowned cranes in the world, but every winter you can see some in the Red-crowned Crane Nature Reserve in the Yellow Sea Wetlands.
The temperature in the wetlands is usually neither too high nor (既不…也不…) too low. There is a lot of rain and sunshine, too. They are really good places for wildlife. Offering(提供) food and home for some special kinds of animals is not the only reason why we need to protect wetlands. Wetlands are important because they also prevent flood (洪水). But some people want to change the wetlands to make more space for farms and less space for wildlife.
Luckily, more and more people are beginning to understand the importance of wetlands and wildlife. Every year, on February 2nd, many activities are held to tell people more about wetlands.

It was Mary’s birthday. She got a letter from her uncle who was a farmer.
“Dear Mary,” the letter said. “Happy Birthday. I am sending you some chickens as your birthday present. They will arrive tomorrow. I hope you like them. Best wishes, Uncle Toby.
Mary was very pleased. She liked eating eggs and she liked eating chicken. “I can keep the chickens for their eggs or eat them,” she thought. It broke open and the chickens ran everywhere. We all need a healthy environment(环境), but we produce waste every day and it is harmful to our environment and health. Though we are young, we can still do something to help. In fact, even the simplest everyday activities can make a real difference to the environment. Here are some ideas for you to live a green life.
Remember these three words: reduce, reuse and recycle.
Reduce means “use less”. Don't waste things. www.gaokw.com This saves money and reduces pollution and waste going into the environment. Before we buy something new, think if it is really necessary or maybe the old one will be just as good! When we do buy things, choose local products if possible, and try not to buy too many things from foreign countries.
Reuse means “use again”. Use things for as long as possible. When we buy things, make sure that they last a long time. We should take care of them so that they will last, and we should repair the old things if we can instead of throwing them away and buying new ones. Don't use a paper cup or a paper bag. It’s better to use a china cup and a lunch box because you can use them again.
Recycle means “change things into something else”. Although it takes energy to change something into something else, it’s better than throwing things away or burning them. Find out what can be recycled in your neighbourhood and take part in recycling programmes. We should also buy products made from recycled materials, such as recycled paper, to help save trees.

Many animals hide to stay alive. They hide in many ways. Some animals hide in leaves; some animals hide in snow. Usually their colors or shapes help protect them. Many animals try to stay around other animals. This helps them stay alive. Zebras stay close together so that they can help each other look out of danger. Seeing many stripes at once can also confuse animals that want to eat them. Some birds stay in a circle, each toward a different direction.
