Volunteers Wanted
The Voluntary Service Club of our school will set up on March 25th. The main purpose of it is to call on and organize students to serve for society better and develop our ability to cooperate to others. The volunteers are required to work at weekends to visit the elderly in the nursing homes in our city, keep public places clean and offer some guidances to the passengers in some stations and so on. The students which are healthy, patience, warm-hearted and willing to help others are welcome to join the club. Whether you are interested and want to become a member of it, please sent your application to the Students’ Union before March 15th. The office of the Students’ Union will contact the choosing candidates for a interview in a few days.

Last Sunday I was walking to the Green Lake Park while I met a foreign visitor who seemed to be losting. I tried to help him but I found we had troubles in understanding each other because my poor English. Just at that moment, a young lady came to help. She spoke well English. The foreigner was unable to find the way with her help, and I learned some English, either. Before the foreigner left, he said he was thankful for their kindness. It was at that time that I decide to work harder at English. This experience has been made me realize that English is really useful.

I often go to a weekend school. So did many of my classmates. This seems popular among students. Good weekend schools have excellent teachers which help us improve our studies. Besides, we get to know students from another schools and learn about their campus of life.
So every coin has two sides. Our school work is already a heavy burden. Extra lesson often take up too much of our time. In addition, pay lots of attention to the extra lessons will affect their school subjects. We may also find ourselves very tired on Mondays to concentrate on the lessons in our own school. We should think seriously about this issue and make best use of our time.

Today, we had a chemistry test. I found the test difficulty, but I tried hardly to do it. Suddenly, Mary, my best friend, asking me to let her to copy my answers. After think for some time, I let her copy my answers. But after the test, all of us were called to the teacher’s office. The teacher was angry because we had same answers in the tests. We were warned not to cheat again so she would need to see out parents. I was very upset. I didn’t cheat. I was just helping a friend. Why does she punish me?

I like music very much, pop songs particularly. Every evening then I am doing homework and at weekends when I at home, I always play some of my favorite songs on my tape recorder. The familiar patterns of notes attracts me into the colorfully world of music. Now and then I stopped to follow the songs. Sometimes, my mother comes in, asking me to fix my attention to my homework. Throughout history man has changed their physical environment in order to improve his way of life. With the tools of technology that he has changed many physical features of the earth. Thus, man’s change to the physical environment have not always had beneficial results. Today, pollution of the air and water is a increasing danger to the health of the planet. Like we know, massive destruction of environment has brought in negative effects and even poses a great threat to man’s existence. Therefore, effective measures should be taken and laws pass to conserve environment. Otherwise, man is certain to suffer the serious consequences causing by this lack of care for his living surroundings.
