Volunteers Wanted
The Voluntary Service Club of our school will set up on March 25th. The main purpose of it is to call on and organize students to serve for society better and develop our ability to cooperate to others. The volunteers are required to work at weekends to visit the elderly in the nursing homes in our city, keep public places clean and offer some guidances to the passengers in some stations and so on. The students which are healthy, patience, warm-hearted and willing to help others are welcome to join the club. Whether you are interested and want to become a member of it, please sent your application to the Students’ Union before March 15th. Cars are everywhere. In big city and small towns, the preferred method of transportation is the automobile. People can get to where they need to go quickly and easy, and it has given a new kind of freedom to many people who may not have experienced it ago. But is driving really the best thing for our society? I argue that it is not. First, pollution was a serious problem, and more cars only make them worse. There is just not way to reduce pollution without decrease the number of cars on the road. Second, cars are very dangerous. Traffic accidents are responsible tens of thousands of deaths every year. Finally, cars are so expensive for most people to afford. However, that doesn’t stop low-income families from spending the most of their money to pay for the family car.

Nowadays more and more parents paid great attention to which school their children should be sent. The more famous the school is, the great desire the parents have it to send their children there. This also gives the school authorities great pressures on meeting the need of academic levels. On the one hand, the school wants very much to maintain it's popularity of high academic achievements, when on the other hand, they have to face the reality of the differences in their pupils. In this case, some schools choose to stream our pupils into different types according to their grades. And most schools still teach students in a traditional way, mixed-ability teaching methods, what has aroused some interest in education researchers.
Today is Sunday, I have been studying all day long. On the morning, I had a dry breakfast. We have no water to drink because the water supply had cut off. The water come back in the evening. I did math then. I didn't stop after 12 o'clock. After a short lunch I had the break. Then I went to my Sunday English Class. After a long and tired class for more than two hours, I got to home. Some work had been done and some hadn't. I must review all my subjects. That's terribly! Especially when there was no water.

Li Yan was awarding the title of “Star Student of the Week” because what she did for our class. On the hot afternoon of last Saturday, Li Yan went to downtown and walked from one store to other, looking for the clothes we would wear in the singing contest. While the rest of us were enjoying our leisure times in cool rooms, she spends the whole afternoon searching for the right clothes. Last weekend my sister went to the supermarket to buy some groceries. Three hours ago, with full bags of goods in both hands, she headed for nearby bus stop, tired and hungry. She was waiting for the bus while it began to rain. After what seemed ages, came a bus, crowded of passengers. When it was her turn to getting on the bus, someone said, “ Sorry, no more rooms.”Quite disappointed, my sister had to take a taxi. Half way home, therefore, the taxi broke down. Hardly had he got out of the taxi when a bus passed by. It was empty, but she had been missed it! What an unluckily day!
