When we learn English, we always find we have difficulties in remembering the names of the months. Therefore, if we know something about the history of the months, possibly it won't be very harder for us to remember them. The following is one of example. January named after God Janus. He was a strange god because he has two faces. He could look in two directions. He could look forward or backward at the same time. He was the god of endings and beginnings. One afternoon, while I was doing my homework, then suddenly I heard someone knocking at the door. I rose my head, looking out of the window to see who it was. A man of about 50 broad shoulders and glasses were standing on the door steps. He was tall, wearing in an old army coat. He grew a wild beard. A big black hat was pulling forward over his eyes so that it was hard to see her face clearly. His shoes were old but worn out. It was a big hole in one of his socks. He had with him a black box in one hand. Only after I took a few more closer looks at him I recognize that he was my neighbor ten years ago.

The other day after work, I was walking down the street while I saw a boy riding a unicycle, one of those bicycle with only one wheel. Once a king asked an artist to paint a picture for him. He told the artist he didn’t want to any shadows in the picture, just sunshine, but the artist did so. When the king saw the finish picture, he was disappointed. Without shadows, everything in the picture looked flat and real. The point of the story was that we need both shadows and sunshine to have a completely picture, just as we need both rain and sun to have living world. People, too, need both sadness and happiness. We often learn important lesson during sad times. So when we feel sad, we should try to stop and think about that we might learn of the experience.

In order to realize his dream, Bill Gates, richest man in the world, gave up studying in Harvard University, that is the most famous in the world. He set up a company and researching the computer software. As an old saying go, “Interest is the best teacher.” I quite agree with this idea. I began to be crazy about English when I was a little girl. I got extreme interested in foreign cultures or customs. To meet me curiosity, I read in English stories every day. It seemed to be the best “meal” of a day. As a result, I always did very well in English exam. Interest is the key of success.
