Habits of highly successful students
Never over-study
When you spend much time studying you will quickly lose focus and the time spent in studying will become “junk time”. You think you’re studying but you’re just sitting there re-reading the same sentence about 100 times and you’re not getting anywhere. Instead, take regular breaks.____ __.Besides, it will give your mind some time to take in what you have been doing.
_______
Top students don’t just randomly(随意地) sit down and complete work. They actually plan what they are going to do. They actually plan the time they will study and they set goals for what will be achieved. If you want to be successful, do as successful people do. Set a plan and, set a goal and stick to it, which create a routine and a routine is the first step towards developing a habit.
__________
Front up to the toughest work first
Many of us like to do the easy things first to build our confidence. That’s fair enough. The only challenge with this approach is that you use up your primary energy at the start of any study period and so if you are dealing with the easy parts with your primary energy your batteries will be low when it comes the time to deal with the hard part. So what happens then? _____. We all do it. We really shouldn’t, though. So develop the habit of giving your primary energy to the hard tasks and completing the easy stuff last.
__________
Do we really have to explain this? Just turn them off for an hour; we promise the world will still be there when you log back in. Don’t text your friends; don’t chat while doing memory activities; don’t make phone calls; just focus on what you're doing. Ever if you focus on work for 15 minutes followed by 5 minutes of chatting, it’s better than 30 minutes of work while also chatting. You get that right?

A.Taking breaks can make you get everywhere.
B.You get tired and impatient and just give up
C.Positive habits decide future success
D.Plan your study

E. Taking breaks will make you energetic again and refresh your mind
F. Get off social networking sites and turn off the phone

When I walked into the house after school, the first thing I noticed was a box with items I recognized from my dad’s office. When he told me that he was laid off, I thought he was joking. Then I noticed his seriousness and realized he was telling the truth. My father has always been a hard worker. He has prided himself on his career.I
guess I had taken his work for granted.
For starters, he was home all the time. It meant my bed had to be made, my room cleaned up, and my homework done right after school. I would come home every day to find him at the computer searching for jobs. He seemed, and how losing his job had affected his self-esteem, though he tried to be optimistic. For the first time, I saw my dad as vulnerable. He asked my brother and me to spend less. I gave up my allowance, which even though it wasn’t much, felt like the right thing to do. I also found a part-time job.
He explained that he never wanted to be laid off again, so he was going to start his own business. Day by day, I watched him build it, On evening I asked if he needed help.“Only if it doesn’t interfere with school,” he said.I showed up at his office the next afternoon, and most afternoons after that for two months.
The terrible experience for our family taught me how to deal with difficulties. Now I know that through creative problem-solving, I can always find Plan B, ask for help, and take risks. What I have learned from my dad’s understanding of business and his work ethic(信条) are two of the most important lessons I will ever learn, and will be my foundations for success.

A.Providing for our family has been his joy.
B.I made every effort to solve his problems.
C.I began to notice how losing his job had affected him.
D.My father’s unemployment created many changes in our lives.

E.After months of searching, my dad decided to go in a totally different direction.
F.His courage and determination helped him to become successful in his new career.
G.I always knew he was a hard worker, but watching him in action ionfluencedd me a lot.

What makes one person more intelligent than another? What makes one person genius, like the brilliant Albert Einstein, and another person a fool? Are people born intelligent or stupid, or is intelligence the result of where and how you live? .
We know, however, that just being born with a good mind is not enough. In some ways, the mind is like a leg or an arm muscle.. Mental exercise is particularly important for young children. Many child psychologists think that parents should play with their children more often and give them problems to think about..If, on the other hand, children are left alone a great deal with nothing to do, they are more likely to become dull and unintelligent.
.According to some psychologists, if parents are always telling a child that he or she is a fool or an idiot, then the child is more likely to keep doing silly and foolish things. So it is probably better for parents to say very positive (helpful) things to their children, such as “That was a very clever thing you did.” or “.”

A.A healthy body contributes to one’s intelligence.
B.Parents should also be careful with what they say to young children.
C.What people want express is like this.
D.The children are then more likely to grow up bright and intelligent.

E.It needs exercise.
F.You are such a smart child.
G.These are very old questions and the answers to them are still not clear.
